Questions & Answers

HI, I would like to see my heart rate for the first time. In order to purchase axactively, what do I need to do?

The heart monitor strap produced by Wahoo is their own product. It doesn't matter which heart rate monitor strap you use, just as long as you can connect it using Bluetooth or ANT+.

Can I use the element bolt as a stand-alone bike computer, or do I have to bring my phone?

You can use it as an independent bicycle Your speed can be tracked and you can be guided on a route with GPS. connect it to the speed and other sensors on your bike.) Some of the features, such as re-calibrated You would need your phone if you wanted to route to a new destination during the ride. As well as setting up the computer and your data fields, which have to be done before a ride, you do not need your phone with you. Apart from that, you do not need to bring it with you.

Do you get a chest strap with the heart monitor?

The answer is yes.

The price is great
5/5

It comes with a bunch of stuff, a cadence sensor for your cranks, a speed sensor for your wheel hub, the heart rate sensor for your chest, and a head unit as well. Strava's integration with them is superb, and the connection with them is great. The unit will also work with Zwift for you indoor cyclists, as it is Bluetooth compatible, and thus no ANT+ adapter is needed. Customizability is amazing, and the accuracy is superb. The bike is not suitable for those just getting into cycling because it is a large investment, but if you are dedicated to the sport, it is worth it.

It is superior to the Garmin edge 530 in my opinion
5/5

Returned a Garmin edge 530 that I recently purchased. It was difficult to get accurate speed readings from the Garmin. As far as I can tell, the unit was not able to read the wheel sensor and gave speed data from the There are a lot of bounces in GPS speed data. have spent several days looking for, reading about, and experimenting with the unit and sensors, but I cannot find a fix for it.

I finally settled on the Wahoo instead and have had it for the past With 6 rides under my belt I've found this unit to be accurate and easy to use. Due to issues with my duotrap S sensor, I am using the cadence and speed sensors that come with the bundle instead. I could not have hoped for an easier pairing. I found this unit more expensive than the Garmin, but after just one ride it was very useful and gave good This is the first time I have found the Garmin to be so expensive and still not give me an In those days, I owned old cateye computers that gave perfect data and I bought them for $20. Whether others have had the same experience with Garmin is unclear to me. I like the following aspects of This is a great touch to have LED lights Several options are available to customize them, such as heart rate zones. It has been said that you cannot see them in daylight, but I can see them without a problem. It is wonderful to be able to customize the There are three buttons at the base of the unit, which is one of my problems. If your hands are full fingered, you cannot pick up one without hitting the other. It will not be an issue without full finger gloves when the weather gets warmer.

The best way to save money is to reduce costs
5/5

It is impossible to improve if you are not measuring! A total of five rides are considered in this review. It is a love affair with me. My original plan was to purchase the Garmin equivalent, but when the device arrived, it was already used and it was supposed to be new, so I promptly returned it. The first thing I would say is that based on the price point I was shopping at and the expectations I had, no other brand would The following fliers are not suitable for use *BR1 It pairs easily with heart rate monitors, speed monitors, and cadence There was one time when I experienced connectivity issues. The solution for me was turning on the unity, moving all the sensors immediately, and starting my ride right away. The following are 2 bullet points of the report - I like the fact that everything is done through the app, and when riding your only concern is to be able to ride!
3 The ability to preload routes from third party websites such as Strava, ridewithgps, and projectmtb makes it much easier to ride. The cons are The following is something that a reviewer pointed out and I agree with *Skip to 1 It takes a while for the pause to occur You should ride if you are sitting at a The following are 2 bullet points of the report Typically, the measurements are taken 3 seconds after the start of the measurement.
I am not training to win anything, so both of the cons don't matter to me. I am not sure what to make of the battery life. I think it is on the shorter side but have no idea what to compare it to. I just got my first one. The unity might make it through, so I guess this review will not be edited! I bought my first cyclometer over 10 years ago which was a Wireless Cateye which was riddled with interferences. The wired unit I have to this day is what I ended up exchanging for. My initial fear was that I would run into the same issues with wireless. I was wrong. The same results came from using the Apple set up at the same time as the Windows set up.

It is clear that they did not learn much from Garmin and Polar when designing this device
3/5

I'll have to use Garmin from here on out. A company that made an entry level device didn't learn as much from other device makers who had been doing it for more years than them.
The first issue was a software failure If it doesn't record your history correctly, you shouldn't depend on it. If you connect your Wahoo Element app to your Android, you will invariably have errors in the history of your phone of synch failure. *) Yet there is one main problem that It might be best to connect only to upload great rides you've had, not to upload all the time. Simply trying to upload the latest ride that clearly appears to have been recorded correctly on the device will not upload or show on your phone. You will only have access to your last rides (they will all be uploaded, yikes*) but not your most recent In addition to this, their horrible lack of understanding of user interface programming is evident This app instead of giving you the option to choose which rides that you would like to upload, starts filling up your phone and uploads them all at once! It has been a long ride for me. A system of automatic detection does not exist By selecting "select all" you will have 50 rides in your profile, if you do not want them you have to delete them individually instead of being able to delete them all. All the items should be selected, and then the un-selected ones should be selected If you don't want to save the ones you don't want, you can do that The second thing is that they do not seem to have learned much from the user interface designs that have been around for years in devices like Garmin and Polar. You have been able to set the speed threshold for your auto-pilot since both of them were invented in the mid-1980s Why would starting the ride at the correct time be important? A mountain bike climb or a steep road climb will reach its NON-limit but on a less technical hill it will reach its higher limit SPEED THRESHOLD CAN BE ADJUSTABLE and recording can be stopped! Hence, when looking at your list of workouts on the map, it won't display your heart rate, nor will it log the hardest part of the ride (for example, you just lost a mile of the hardest climb because you weren't going fast enough)! You can adjust the speed threshold on both Polar and Garmin computers so as to be able to have speed granularity of say 1 mile per hour, which will work in these When it comes to Wahoo computers, this setting isn't available. The recording just won't work! How about a climb as steep as Brasstown Bald in Georgia, or Boulder Flagstaff in Colorado, or Apex Mountain Bike Park in Colorado? Put it out of your mind! It will not be recorded which part was the hardest! The next issue is that it will appear on the timing of your ride Accessed by adjusters. Thus, it will always have a smaller size in relation to the other ones on the screen unless you zoom out and wipe out other columns on the page you wish to view. time will always be one size larger than your total ride time (so I think they think sizing up the font on the total ride time is more important than sizing up the font on time of day in most cases). I like the idea of automated validation but I think there are too When I want to end a ride, I simply press a button on my Garmin and it will stop it and turn it off, and I can save it. To turn off, you can simply hold down the Garmin's button so that it turns off. As a result of the Wahoo designer's and the Wahoo developer's inability to comprehend UI programming well It is necessary to confirm everything you do over and over again. Using the long press, are you sure you want to turn it off. If you would like to end a ride, please confirm. As each action is performed, it goes on and on. Garmin's or similar), it just wipes it. In the interest of I've had a good battery life! The form factor and LCD display are easier to see than the new color Garmins, but the other problems make it unworthy of being replaced. With some good research, they could have surpassed the other GPS devices that are out there that have been offering this for many, many years without problems They failed to do this and we now have just another mediocre device to record endurance exercise.
