Straps can be tied around the roof rack or cinched through the metal clips and into the doors of a small hatchback without a problem. br>It's possible that the board will need to be raised above the antenna by obstructing it in some way. br>The SUP 2- is kept secure on the lockdown rack. Because of the padding, it is 3 " higher. It might be possible to double them up or use some other padding.
We've used ours without tying it to the front or back of the car.
The sunroof, on the other hand, should not be an issue. The straps would be placed in front and behind the sunroof, respectively. This item goes through the doors and is not a mount, but rather a tie down with padding to prevent your car from being scratched.
Yes, I think so. In the design, there is a lot of "wiggle room."

These are fantastic; however, make sure to follow the instructions and twist the straps to reduce noise while driving. For extra security during our 5-hour road trip, we added front and rear tie down straps. We had no problems on a previous two-hour trip when we didn't use the extra straps.
NO STRAPS TOUCH THE SIDES OF THE BOARDS (UP TO 2 SUPS) DUE TO THE NEOPRENE DESIGN WRAP AROUND THE SUPS. THE STRAPS WOULD BE TOUCHING THE SIDES OF THE BOARDS IF SECURING MORE THAN 2 BOARDS.
I spent hundreds of dollars on a roof rack that I really liked, but I still haven't installed it on my current car after two or three cars. I bought this set in the hopes of finding a good alternative; I've used it a few times and it takes a little time to cinch up as tightly as I'd like, but it appears to be quite secure once done. I'd suggest it.
This is an excellent deal. It was a little difficult to set up at first, but with two people it's a lot easier. The most difficult part is removing the strap from the fastener and reinstalling it in order to secure the boards to your vehicle with a roof rack, so pay attention to how it goes back in. It's a lot easier if someone else holds the straps for you and pulls them tight while keeping them in place.
The most amazing thing that has ever happened! I rarely write reviews, but I felt compelled to do so in this case. It's difficult for me to secure the board on the car on my own. I had to wait for my husband to do it every time. This is no longer the case.
I was blown away. I was initially hesitant because I had always used hard racks, but these soft racks convinced me otherwise. They have a firm grip on my board, and I'm confident they won't fall off. Even with 40 mph side winds, it stayed put. There was some humming from the racks, but not nearly as much as the FCS. Also, USPS made a mistake with the shipping, but Steve was extremely helpful. I'd buy them again if the opportunity presented itself.
We had to return the item because it didn't fit in our car. Only a portion of our refund was given to us. If you're returning this item, make sure you read the fine print, because we didn't and only got $37. 50 back. I would not buy from this company again because they are unfriendly to their customers.
For my BMW and rental cars, I really like the rack. It worked perfectly after a few minutes of figuring it out. I have two large SUPs, and the rack was perfect for them. However, I'm not sure I'd include a third. The wind does cause some vibration and noise, but I've had this problem with every rack I've had. It's an excellent buy for the price, portability, and convenience.
