Is there a restriction on the amount of weight that can be carried?

They're very strong and can accommodate large windsurfers, which is exactly what I need. I'm not sure they'd be able to accommodate a kayak.

I bought this rack to keep our inflatable paddle boards in the garage between outings so we didn't have to deflate and re-inflate them all the time, and it worked perfectly for us. The fact that the arms are padded is appealing to me. The installation was simple, but it was made a little more difficult by the lack of instructions. Although I figured it out on my own, instructions would have been helpful.
