Extreme Max 3006.8417 Aluminum SUP/Surfboard Ceiling Rack for Home and Garage Overhead Storage

I needed more storage space in my garage, so I decided to go from a wall-mounted unit to a free-standing unit. This was the perfect solution for mounting a surfboard to a ceiling rack. 1. br>br> What's the contents of the package? The rack comes in a small box with the items disassembled and instructions, as well as screw mounts (see below). 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br What is the procedure for setting up? It was very simple to set up. The rack is comprised of two base units and two end units (one for each rack mount) that are simply installed and locked in place with a button. Mechanisms of this type But I'd put those on last!br>The racks come with plastic anchors and screw mounts. For many installations, I'm confident that these will suffice. I didn't have any studs to try and secure these to. Instead, because I only had drywall (sheetrock), I felt more at ease using anchor bolts, which I could easily find at my local hardware store. I was able to get these installed and up in no time, just like any other bolts; there are TWO holes per rack, for a total of four holes. After that, all you have to do now is add the final unts and you're done. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. Use? This is fantastic. The space between the ceiling top of the mount and the holders is more than enough for either placing it on top via the side or sliding it down the racks, depending on your preference. br>br>The nice thing about the design is that there's enough give in it that getting the surfboard or whatever else on the rack won't be a problem. This, on the other hand, isn't going away. Overall: br>br> My garage storage problem has finally been solved. I'm ecstatic to have discovered and acquired this. My board and kayak paddles (as well as fishing poles) are now safely stored and easily accessible, and I've solved a major problem. Perfect.

I like that it is light weight and easy to lift to install, but I had to use deck crews that I had because the screws provided had one screw that was completely unusable, and the screws that were usable would not penetrate the solid wood beam of our upstairs deck. br>br>I like that it is light weight and easy to lift to install, but I had to use deck crews that I had because the screws provided had one screw that was completely unusable, and the screws that were usable would not penetrate When I tried to put one board on it, I was very concerned that the support beams would bend. Despite being securely fastened in place with deck screws, it swayed a lot. I'm crossing my fingers that it lasts.

Extreme Max customer service, on the other hand, was FANTASTIC and quickly dispatched a replacement unit. I had only requested that replacement screws be sent to me. They went above and beyond what I expected of them. The ceiling rack is EXTREMELY WELL MADE, and it easily holds my ladders. The materials are extremely tough and long-lasting. To attach it to your ceiling, I would only recommend using a higher-quality screw, in my opinion. Extreme Max products have my full support, and I thank them for a fantastic experience!.

This is a fantastic product that is simple to set up. Sturdy! But, as with the other reviews, one screw was missing. I used a screw I already had on hand to replace it.
