Yes, I use it on my paddle board, but I also use a soft cooler bag that I can squash.
I'm not sure because I've never been able to get it to stick to a hard board.
It also comes with self-adhesive hooks, which are more permanent than suction cups; if you use the suction cups, wet the bottom first; several people have complained about the suction cups not working, but mine stayed on for the entire summer. If your board is like mine, it has built-in lashing points, which I used to secure two of the net corners. The internet poses no problems for me.

This is a fantastic little rigging kit. After reading some of the reviews about the adhesive failing, I decided to epoxy the lashing points in place. I like how the net can be clipped on and off, as well as the extra hole for a bungee if desired. I needed a bungee kit with an optional net, and this was the only one I could find - The bungee cord and epoxy were purchased separately.
I tried the suction cups, but I have a solid board, and they stayed stuck when they got really wet, but slid in with the bungee net tension. So I went to Lowes and bought a five-dollar two-part epoxy to use with the plastic tie downs. I didn't use the little sticky patches that came with the kit because I wanted it done right away. IT'S EXTREMELY IMPRESSIVE. Because I get wakes over my bow, it washes my stuff away, I really needed this on my board. I looked everywhere for low-profile plastic attach points that wouldn't hurt you if you stepped on them, and these are perfect!.
great! Save the glue strips and suction cups for another project; I used "professional grade" Loctite to glue the hooks directly to the (non-porous) surface. board (which is inflatable).
This cargo net is excellent, and I appreciate the suction cups that allow you to remove it if desired.
Suction cups are a joke unless you want to lose all of your belongings, but it was nice at first. So I bought marine grade epoxy, sanded down the board, and installed the four plastic pieces, only to lose two of my belongings and the netting to the ocean within a month. It has the potential to be fantastic. Also, I wish the plastic pieces could be purchased separately; this time, I'll drill them into the board and use epoxy to ensure it doesn't leak. Because I'm a mechanical engineer, these aren't for you unless you're handy.
Adhesion is a thin tape that resembles 2 spades. I used alcohol to clean my area, and it stayed for a day before peeling away. The internet is of good quality in and of itself, but that is where the quality ends.
After application, the 3 M tape came off easily and landed on the water. Although the bungee net is well-made, I need to find a different way to anchor it.
The use of hooks is fantastic. The use of a bungee net is extremely beneficial. The use of hooks is fantastic. THE WORST were adhesive strips! I ended up attaching the hooks to the board with Command Strips, which worked perfectly. The adhesive strips included with the product are of very poor quality.
