What version of Windows 7 is compatible with the 32-bit and 64-bit versions? As with windows XP, I had this version and it worked well?

As soon as I upgraded to Windows 7, all of my Delorme software from 2007 and earlier stopped working. Delorme has a website where you can find out which versions are compatible. Now that I have Basecamp with Garmin Maps, I have no need for Delorme software any longer.

Selected User Reviews For Street Atlas USA 2003

For a title that has a good history, it's a mixed bag
3/5

I had to deal with a tough question. All the terrible reviews made me wonder, should I even bother with this product? So I bought it, and a few days later I'm still not sure I like it, but it does its job. Using the old and the new at the same time and I find it both useful and frustrating. SA 2003 has both good and bad qualities. The pluses are It is better to look at the map data. It is not perfect, even with the latest versions of Delorme's data. Local maps still far from being as accurate as Delorme's. In any case, there is a "fix. " There is a new version of Street Atlas that allows you to add (With a GPS log, it's not difficult to generate a fairly accurate truck route simulation. need to do a little driving around in order to fill in the gaps. Having direct links to points of interest, restaurants, hospitals, and radio stations on the map makes it a very useful resource. Even though the data is only moderately complete, it is mostly accurate and somewhat useful. Compared to SA 2003, SA 2003 provides a lot more functionality. The system allows more than one route and design objects to be added and multiple waypoint files to be loaded (all at once), which makes it rather difficult to use. As for the layers, it has almost the same effect as AutoCAD. It will overwhelm many users The odds are almost in your favor. This version is going to disappoint you if you liked the simplicity of previous versions. In the box should be a DVD where the program comes with instructions on how to make best use of it. It's not easy to find what you're looking for. Using this application you can search for places with ease by zip code, altitude or latitude values, city names, etc. In combination with the "new" interface, the options can be a little too cumbersome for most users. The reliability of this product is excellent. As of yet, I haven't encountered any crashes. Minimal points There is nothing appealing about the interface. (I am still undecided if it is awful or not. The other half of me understands that it needs to be tolerated, but hates It does not need to be In some ways, standard and in some ways not This program is intuitive. You should read all the help documentation TWICE before trying to use the program for the first time. This is especially true if you've used Street Atlas before. Those who designed the UI failed to mention one of the cardinal rules of Windows programming - a familiar interface provides a better As I read reviews, it seems to be a little The new version is not quite as fast as previous versions, but it's not as slow as last year's. 2) It increases the speed of the system. There is nothing more dangerous than If you can't think of anything else you want to do with the computer, then don't use GPS tracking or real-time location Here are my 1-star ratings. The performance of a 2 Ghz Athlon with 512 MB of RAM was maxed out upon attempting this task (100% CPU utilization). (Uncheck every check box in the GPS Options dialog box. If you use this as your primary mapping program in your car, you will likely be disappointed due to excessive CPU usage, which may make it feel very slow. As a result, CPU usage was rarely above 50% in normal home use, so that finding places and scrolling through maps without GPS barely exceeded You can initially start the GPS and not be too frustrated as long as you've already planned the route and have done everything else that involves not interacting with the computer. (At this point, do not try to make any changes. 1) I don't know why this happens, but accepting GPS data seems to solve most of the The microphone feature, where you can ask the app where you are, I did not test. Since I have no experience with that, I cannot evaluate its effectiveness. I found this program to have an awful "new" interface, good information with much flexibility, and makes me feel fast, but its interface is awful. If you're not going to use it in the real world, it is safe to use When typing a letter, you can use a GPS device to map the time. In case you're afraid of the technology It's going to make you angry because it's not what you're expecting It will take some time to get to know the standard. Perhaps you would be better served by a less CPU-intensive and simpler application, such as an older version of Street Atlas, if you plan to sit in your car with your laptop and GPS. In any case, if you're the adventuresome type who likes screwy non-game stuff, you might want to take a chance Interfaces that are standard SA 2003 can be found at this link. Offering many features, it is a great choice.

The At las in question is outdated and isn't accurate
3/5

My business operations are hampered by the fact that this ALAS is out of date, and is not compatible with any of the programs I use. We would appreciate it if you could be more specific when explaining to purchasers that STREET 2003 US will not work with modern Windows programs. You should specify what you are looking for (be specific). I greatly appreciate your kind words.

Planning a vacation is not a good idea
3/5

you're looking for doors, you've come to the right place In case you want door-to-door routing software that does not require your being online, Street Atlas 2003 (SA2003) is the perfect tool. The routing and road database are extensive and the routing is both accurate and fast. But if you are looking for travel planning software to replace AAA Map'n'Go (a vacation planner that Delorme has discontinued), you will be This version of SA2003 adopted the non-federal standard This same user interface is already used by Delorme In spite of the fact that dialog boxes do not appear above the map, the application takes a bit of time to master and feels limited. In the right hand corner of the screen, there is an unnecessary navigation bar in the way of taking up space on the screen. A door will be routed as follows When you open the door, you can enter an address or click on the map to select a starting point. Assigning a destination and a set of stops makes it possible to plot a route. route calculation can be printed by turning it into a turn-by-turn route You will also find a variety of maps, including turn-by-turn directions and strip maps You can find turn maps here. Unlike Map'n'Go maps, only major highways are shown in color, making the maps more difficult to understand. When the turn comes In turn maps, you get multiple copies because many interchanges, particularly Interstate interchanges, are thought of as separate turns, so you get four or five copies of each route Directions for only a small part of each intersection are included on turn maps. SA2003 fails miserably when it comes to planning a vacation as compared to Map'n'Go, a product that has been discontinued. The Map'n'Go, also known as Delores, contained most of AAA Tourbook's database of attractions and accommodations, presenting each with several paragraphs with detailed information, including an address, phone, description, hours of operation, how long to schedule to visit, and rates or admission. Travel planning was easy with this program, which calculated routes promptly and provided directions and maps that were clear. Rather than starting at the door, the routes began at the nearest major street A lot of planning could be done through the front door. To see all points, you could ask Map'n'Go for assistance Then you just choose the type of interest along a route and you will have a complete list that includes a narrated slide show. This is not the case with SA2003, which, after several minutes of performing the processing, can provide only the phone number (without naming) of each point of contact. A nice feature of Map'n'Go was its ability to display accommodations and points of interest Because there are so many points on the map, SA2003 shows only tiny dots at most but only zoomed in at the most heavily zoomed-in section This is how maps look. It used to be I would use Map'n'Go to filter the lodging symbols to view only accommodations with a certain price and AAA rating to help me quickly find the best price for a given quality level of hotel. The SA2003 form does not include lodging details, so you cannot use it for this. In addition to those missing from SA2003, Map'n'Go also does not include routing for Canada and Mexico, and weather and road construction information are not downloadable. In spite of its less points, SA2003 comes out on top - Qualitative content with a high quantity of content A little more than four SA2003 contains too many points, or if you only want an exhaustive list of all bars, nail salons, ATMs, dance studios, car dealers, etc. , then it is not for you. There's no detailed information about how to plan a trip to any of these points of interest. The only thing you can do to address the issue is to limit searches to certain categories, but that too In search results for "Amusement and Recreation" within a 10 mile radius of San Francisco, I came up with over 1,500 results, including every karate studio, night club, video arcade, bowling alley, etc. Of those, over 80% were useless to me. By using keywords you can further refine your search, but even then you will still get a lot of information but nothing specific. There were many points that I found concerning- This category of interest has been erroneously classified. Listed as an amusement element was, for instance, the leasing office of an office building. SA2003 has a glaring weakness when you pursue points because it takes too long to search for them--no matter how you intend to utilize it Especially along a route, there is much to see. There is a 1,500-member user group I'd like to join A 3,000-mile route from San Francisco to Astoria, Oregon was explored and points of interest were identified- Within two miles of the route, there are places of interest. It took twenty-five minutes for the search to be completed I have five minutes to spare! There were 2,284 points in total, the majority of them were Vacation planners would have been of no use if interest existed. step of the way - Here's the - It took me between 15 and 30 minutes to run my route search test. The CPU was running at 100% when I checked System Monitor. A PC with 800MHz and 256MB of RAM was used to run this program. The same tests were run on a PC with 733MHz and 384MB of RAM, and the results were similar. Using SA2003 as a result of these excessive search times is extremely frustrating and inconvenient. Even worse, if you don't print out the results or save them to a text file, you will lose them after SA2003 has been closed. The install program for Delorme's SA2003 could be changed so the vacation planner could install only those points that are essential to the vacation planner. It is up to them to decide upon their interests. To illustrate, I would only install a few tourist attractions, accommodations, and the like. Thus, (I hope) the number of records would be considerably smaller, and searching might be made much faster. The further enhancements of SA2003 could be achieved by delorme providing a special travel planning database which included the same type of detailed AAA information that is Since I don't use mapping software with a GPS, I didn't check this out with SA2003, though it did appear comprehensive.
If Map'n'Go was still available, I would return SA2003 and purchase the newest Map'n'Go version. I would still like to use the 2001 version of Map'n'Go 7 for vacation planning and only use SA2003 if I need to verify the route. Whenever they drop Map'n'Go, I want the other company to do the same! If another firm comes up with a better vacation planning package, I will drop Delorme as quickly! It is my hope that a more efficient solution will emerge before Map'n'Go becomes.

It has a sluggish interface with poor design
3/5

It offers a sluggish interface and a poorly designed point of interest list. I purchased Street Atlas 2003 after being dissatisfied with Microsoft Streets and Trips 2002 as it offered a portion of the point of interest list (rather than the interface). Street Atlas 2003 has an interface that is so poorly designed, it is almost impossible to use. Even though it seems that point of interest data on S&P 500 is in fact better than S&P 500 The S&L database for 2002 contains the following data According to rumors, this new version should be better than this one. The Street Atlas 2003 has one major advantage over the S&M Unlike Microsoft, the GPS only updates every three seconds, not 15 seconds like it does with the software.
One can only gain a full understanding of the functionality of the interface by using the product, but basic functions such as panning and zooming are not easy to use. While searching for an address, it appears to scroll through a list of zip codes on its own without any explanation It is showing you a pop-up menu, apparently to let you know POI data is quite extensive, almost to the point of going into extremes with different A POI result is displayed on the screen when a search is performed, but it is not obvious how to obtain the Map coordinates are listed as well as no street address in the menu below. There is a definite lack of visual appeal to the maps as well The other problem is that even on my 1G network, there are no connections any more. On a Pentium IV running at 6GHz, the application is very slow to launch, difficult to find addresses, and cannot calculate routes very fast. It's clear that the program's interface needs to be completely redesigned.
