THE PURCHASE OF THE STREET ATLAS
5/5

Although I was skeptical, I have to admit it. Buying my first item from Amazon was a great experience. Please visit www. com. Were you expecting the item to be as you expected it I did receive it on time and it's perfect. It was what it was supposed to be and it's on time and seems to work well. It has been a very good experience for me.

Although there are some flaws, the product is still very nice

The Garmin ETREX GPS I own has waypoints that I can load into it to create bicycle routes. Is there software that allows me to do that? It can cost up to three times as much as Street Atlas to purchase mapping software from Garmin. Here's a lowdown on how I've been pleased with the product so far. Install the following All went well until it attempted to load "Points of Interest. " I did not request it to load them for more than Only a little over 10% of them had been loaded after about an hour. In order for the installation to be completed, it had to run overnight. A word of advice choose the states you need and give yourself plenty of time to finish the setup. GPS

** Make use of This is an extremely accurate waypoint generator (within 20 - 25 centimeters) that I have used to load waypoints It is 30 feet long. My Garmin GPS was recognized by the software without any problem, and the route was immediately loaded. Turns or major intersections are marked on the map. I will point out that when a GPS route is created, it simply follows the straight line The point at which the line begins There is one waypoint between two others. The reason for this is that Street Atlas only loads waypoints and not their subsequent routes. With a curving road, you can mark a waypoint at each end of the path, and the GPS will auto-generate a track Between them, there is a line route. The route does not follow a "bread crumb" pattern. Therefore, it is very important that you make sure that you create a route point (called a VIA in Street Atlas) at every major turn or intersection on your route, before loading it The caution applies only to loading from a PC to a GPS unit. Once the GPS has been configured as a standalone device, you can use it alone. You do not need to fill out this form if you are traveling with your computer/laptop. -Ease of Use The application is designed to be easy to use. In this case there is not a manual. A simple brochure to help you get started is not even available. You may not find it intuitive at first, but after you use it for a while you will understand how to use it. There are some improvements that could be made to the online help In the end, I wasted a great deal of time trying to figure out how to do something simple. A map's accuracy is determined by the following factors Street names were mislabeled on some streets, I discovered. As an example Despite 43rd Street being referred to as 43rd Place, I live there. The location is not a huge concern, unless you are unfamiliar with the area and trying to locate a location on 43rd Place You would be out of luck if you did. In some cases, streets that connect to each other (have always done so) are not shown connected. While the maps are generally accurate for most purposes, they appear to be relatively current as well. Routes generated by the system For my destination, I asked it to find a route to the northwest of my home. The map should have advised me to take a nice, open highway that goes northwest and takes me directly to my destination. The computer suggested I head south for about 5 miles, then west for a few miles, and then Despite being a major highway, there are many traffic lights on the proposed route, as well as a lower posted speed. In fact, the problem occurred regardless of whether the shortest or preferred route was selected. Only if I asked for the "shortest" route did it select the correct route. If you use the software, it will probably get you where you need to go, but it may not pick the best route. Points of Interest There were lots of hotels, restaurants, and similar businesses in my area, but some were missed, while others that had closed years ago are I noticed that there were still a few numbers with old area codes showing on some of the phones in my state even though the area codes had changed a year ago. Nevertheless, one can say that the database of points of interest was generally considered reliable. As a whole While none of the mapping programs can claim to be perfect, this one is actually better than the last one I tried. The pricing of the product is fair, and I am satisfied with it, despite its shortcomings.

Road warriors will find this app to be a godsend
4/5

The job I have requires me to travel all over the Northeast part of the country. In spite of my fearlessness, I've looked into some of the most remote corners of the Earth. It is not practical to use online products in the car because they do not serve any purpose. It's not very useful to use those stupid map generators in airports from Hertz and Avis. Moreover, I am not comfortable using paper atlases and maps since they cannot be searched or looked up. Yet Street Atlas makes my trips from Point A to Point B simple. A quick glance at a map before a trip has saved me a lot of time, frustration, and frustration with a 400 mile drive with six waypoints in three states. I have never been let down by it. When you finally see a secondary route show up right when you expected it, especially when you are in the middle of a rural area at night and on a primary route. Street Atlas has given me great satisfaction since my first copy released in 2005. This program is rated 4 because on occasion, it gives incorrect information about the exit. You can send an email to DeLorme and they will revise it in the next release (this has been done in the past).

If you plan to use this, carry a compass with you at all times
3/5

You will be given driving directions that tell you to turn left and right rather than northwest and west and southeast if you use this software. It is a terrible piece of is not designed to tell you which exit to take, and if you have a compass, you can figure out which way I am disappointed. My return of this software is effective immediately. To find sensible directions, it is better to use mapquest. com.
