The program didn't run on the new computer, apparently I had to reinstall the program. Since I'd had no luck reinstalling the old program, I decided to download this one. It was realized how important the version date was in this program. In case your computer is newer than when the issue was issued, it will not be Using a laptop or computer that is older than your computer is compatible with more recent versions of the software. What a simple concept, why did I not realize this before.
This is an excellent platform and I hope Microsoft will continue to support it.
The review must have not been sent in. Even though I own the newer version already, I had such a great time with this app that I am now using the newer version as well This older version of the program is easier to use, however.
It is great that the GPS unit can be connected to a computer via USB. As well as working in Microsoft MapPoint (NA and Eurpean versions), it also works in Google Earth. As of 2006, S&D is available in two versions With voice navigation, you can set up your laptop in your front seat before you leave, pop your GPS up in the front window, and allow it to provide directions while driving without your having to touch the screen.

From my experience upgrading from MS Streets and Trips 2002, I expected more features when using the new version. A PDA or cell phone device could be used as well, like in 2002. In addition, Microsoft's requirement that you upgrade their product means their support for earlier versions ends, causing the database to become obsolete. You should try it if you are unfamiliar with the product but if you have used this before, it is the best. A number of GPS transponders are compatible with MS Streets and Trips. As far as my business is concerned, this has not yet become a factor.
I don't think it offers great features and I don't think it lacks any either. As far as software of this type goes, this would be a good choice. In my opinion, Google Maps and Map Quest both meet my needs.
The only thing better than Google Maps was this up until that point.
