Questions & Answers

Is it compatible with Windows XP?

It certainly can, as evidenced by another comment (if you surf). When does the OS/SW and Apps cutoff happen? I previously used Office Suite 2003 and 2007 with the Vista operating system, but have since upgraded to Windows 7 and Office Suite 2010.

Is it possible to use this product on Windows 7?

It will work with Windows 7, but there is a security issue with macros that is not covered by the warranty. Make sure you don't throw your money away. purchase the most recent release

Does it run on Windows 8?

I'm not sure because I have Windows 7, but I'm sure it'll work because I was taking an Excel class and needed Excel 2012, despite the fact that I was taking an Excel 2010 class. The Microsoft technicians were able to take this disc and install it on my computer, resulting in the presence of the 2010 version. They were AMAZING and extremely helpful! See if you can find them on the internet and give them a call! I hope this information was beneficial.

Is it possible to use this on Windows 8? Is it true that it only works on PCs that have been preloaded? Is it only available for a limited time? How long will it be available to download?

Microsoft Office 2010 and Microsoft Office 2013 are compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 computers. All variations of these machines are included in this category. It won't work on the Windows 8 tablet versions. The different processor architecture of Windows 8 RT is what I'm referring to when I say tablet. It will not load or run on a Windows Surface Tablet, for example, but the Windows Surface Tablet comes with Office 2013 preinstalled. If you have a Windows Surface Pro, this software, as well as Office 2013, is fantastic! I hope this has been of assistance.

From a bad company, great software programs
5/5

I recently purchased a new computer and decided to install Windows 7 on it because I already have Windows 8 on my laptop. The fact that you can STILL buy a new machine with Windows 7 says it all about Windows 8. Of course, Windows 10 was announced with a free upgrade a short time later, but after experiencing Microsoft's previous disaster, I'm not sure I'm willing to bite. I'm thinking of sticking with 7. br>br>Which brings me to this product: I purchased Word 2012 for my laptop and detested it almost as much as Windows 8! They've tried to add more and more functions and features, things that most people will never need or use, and in the process, they've made the program so cumbersome and annoying to use that it's driving me insane. When you need a two-page laminated cheat sheet to use Word, something is seriously wrong. As a result, I chose Word 2010, which I adore. br>br>However, because it's old software, I had trouble downloading it from the Microsoft site; the link provided with the package is no longer functional, so don't bother. Even after I found the correct link, it was a chore because it wouldn't download properly, forcing me to call Microsoft's helpdesk for help. The first call connected me with a woman in India who was very pleasant but spoke with a heavy accent, which, combined with the poor connection (it is after all a few continents away), made it impossible for us to communicate. I understand that Microsoft has a near-monopoly in this market, but when will they stop putting their customers through this? Wasn't it bad enough that you forced Windows 8 on us? br>br>So, after finding it much more difficult than it should or could have been, I downloaded the softward. Is anyone else nostalgic for the days before code keys, when software was delivered on a CD? I know, I sound like a dinosaur, but it was a lot easier, and there were no phone calls to Mumbai! br>br>To sum it up, I like Word 2010, but I'm not crazy about the company that made it.

I'm afraid I've reached the end of my Office experience
4/5

I've been using Microsoft Office since it was first released, but after retirement and the purchase of my most recent computer, I wasn't sure I'd still need it. However, because I was attending classes at our local community college, I was legally able to qualify for a student license, despite the fact that I'm retired. Because I've always been interested in software development (I started programming in FORTRAN in 1961), I've seen the constant evolution of functionality as well as the sometimes frivolous and disruptive tendency to change the UI over essentially the same product just to make the claim that it's "new" and "improved. " " When open source freeware alternatives to Microsoft Office first appeared, I put them to the test. The non-profit is now in charge. Because the non-profit organization for which I regularly volunteer uses mostly open source software, I'm just as well off with Open Office as I would be with a newer version. Because Microsoft removed the Outlook client from the suite in this release, and because Windows 7 also lacks a full mail system client in most cases, I've switched to Firefox and won't be going back!.

WHEW! After running over my laptop (don't ask), I was desperate for Office 2010
5/5

I despise having to switch between my personal laptop and my work computer to use two different versions of MSoft! Looking on Amazon for a few days, I only saw Office 2010 in the "other sellers" category, and I wasn't about to buy something over $100 from a possible serial killer selling a fake version of M'Soft out of their basement (JK). The storefront of Software Media appeared to be legitimate, so I decided to take a chance based on the seller's reputation. I'm so happy I went! The product code functioned flawlessly. Office 2010 has made my life a lot easier. I had just moved into a new house (which is why the laptop was an unintended casualty), and my patience was wearing thin. New house, new laptop, too many boxes to unpack AND new software to learn; would've been enough to push me over the edge. A satisfied customer!.

It's cheaper than paying an annual subscription to "rent" Office 2013
3/5

After all, it's Microsoft Office, and we all need it in some form. I recently purchased a Dell laptop that runs on Windows 8. 1 and needed to add Office, but I could only get Office 2013 with an annual subscription through Dell or Microsoft's website. Because of the cost, I don't like the annual subscription, and after reading reviews of Office 2013, I decided I didn't want it either. On another computer, I was perfectly at ease with 2010. So I went looking for Office 2010 to buy outright and was ecstatic when I found it. br>br>There are two reasons why this is only three stars rather than five. To begin with, I believe this software, like most Microsoft software, is only moderately user-friendly. Second, despite the fact that the Key packaging states that it can be downloaded from Microsoft's website, neither the website nor the patient customer service rep I spoke with could accept my key number. As a result, it took him more than two hours to load it for me. It was a lot of work for him, but it shouldn't have been necessary. Still, if I had to choose between the options for getting Office, I'd go with this one - So, three out of five stars.

The new version has a lot in common with the previous one, but it's not so dissimilar that learning it will be difficult
4/5

First, if you get this as a full version, uninstall the old one first; if it's an update, don't uninstall the old one; otherwise, leave the old one on your device. that said, 2010 is yet another step forward in the evolution of this office. there are some changes, but for those of us who have used office before, it's fairly easy to pick up and get started without having to learn a bunch of new stuff. If you have a version of Windows that is older than 2007, it is imperative that you update it as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more changes to the product line will be made, and the learning curve will become steeper. On one of my older computers, I still have this. It doesn't have an outlook, but neither does home or student. If you want Outlook, you'll have to upgrade your package. Personally, I enjoy Outlook and have no plans to switch after more than a decade of using it. If you have an older machine or are still using a pre-installed operating system, Instead of using Office 2013, you may want to consider using the Windows 8 operating system. I own both, and to be honest, there isn't much of a difference between them. It all depends on your needs and desires.
