This device consistently reported that our tank was too dry. We borrowed a friend's device, which had a different reading. It was something I didn't believe in.
For about three weeks, it worked perfectly. The hygrometer has finally given up the ghost. I was let down. It's a good thing I caught on before my hermit crabs died.
This product didn't work properly, and it didn't glow in the dark like it was supposed to. I ended up tossing it out and replacing it with a new one from a different company, which works perfectly!.
I had no idea they required such a wide range of supplies. I ordered this after purchasing and assembling her habitat for Christmas, only to discover that I needed it later. It was delivered quickly and accurately measures temperature and humidity levels. It's simple enough for my 10-year-old to read and then adjust for her new pets.
We had been using it for a few weeks before I realized I needed to test the gauge because something didn't seem quite right. When I removed it from the tank, I discovered that it was the humidity gauge. For hermit crabs, this is the most important factor! was not working in any way. I don't think it was ever! Junk.
Would recommend this product because it works great in my hermit crab aquarium.
It doesn't stay on the tank very well. We must reapply it on a daily basis. Aside from that, everything is fine.
It really works. My crabs are content because I am able to keep their cage in perfect condition.
