I said "no" until I figured out how to do it, which took a long time. The clear lid is pryed off at the ends, and the paper with the coils on it is removed. Turn the entire coil on the back to match another set of gauges that has been properly calibrated. Set it aside for 5 minutes, then adjust it as needed to ensure that it is perfectly calibrated to your other gauges. After that, reassemble it.
Due to their high humidity requirements, you'll need a thermometer hygrometer. They're fantastic, and I own one as well. The dial face for the zoo med analog style(2) does a fantastic job.
The thermometer has a range of - to +. The temperature ranges between 20 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit. This unit's thermometer appears to be fairly accurate, but the hygrometer appears to be suspect.
Yes, if the tank is larger than a 50 gallon, depending on the size of the tank. If the container is 50 gallons or less, simply place it in the middle.

She did, however, sustain some injuries and is currently suffering from open wounds. This item is inhumane, and it should not be sold as a pet accessory. Thank you for causing my pet so much pain and incurring so many medical expenses.
I'm not sure if it worked at all. After a few months, however, it most certainly does not. This was used in a humidor by me. The gauges are wedged in place by a thin card stock that swells up when it gets humid.
I'm not sure what went wrong, but both gauges stopped working just a month after purchase. I tested the device with a known working thermometer and hygrometer before installing it in my Vivarium, and it worked perfectly. Then, a few days ago, I noticed that each time I checked it, the readings were identical. It was no longer functional! I removed the gauge from my Vivarium and placed it in the snow to be sure. It was still 74 degrees when I returned four hours later. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product and would not recommend it to anyone!.
Untrustworthy. The information provided is incorrect. If your pets' health and happiness are important to you, DO NOT purchase this. Obviously, ZooMed and anyone else who sells this garbage don't give a damn. This is completely out of the realm of possibility. By a small amount, the temperature has risen, but the humidity has increased significantly. When range is critical to desert vs tropical pets, too much is too much is too much is too much is too much is too m Have you ever been perplexed as to why your beloved pet died suddenly? It's possible that the following is the cause: Using junk gauges to maintain temperature and humidity. Oh, and there's one more thing - Because the velcro is stronger than the adhesive, removing it rips the whole thing apart, causing the adhesive on the glass to be lost. Invest in a high-end brand; I'm convinced that any positive review is either fake or isn't backed up by a second source. Take a look at the photos and make your own decision. Please accept my heartfelt gratitude.
It was useless because it was completely inaccurate when compared to two other thermometers. After leaving it overnight to get an accurate reading when my home was in the high 60s, it read 90 in my home. However, when I contacted the company, they promptly refunded my funds, so I am satisfied with how things were handled.
This isn't going to work out. Humidity readings are off by 8% and there is no way to correct them. I have a more expensive calibrated gauge that I didn't want to use in a cage with animals. I'll need to look for one that can be adjusted. If you have an accurate gauge to compare it to, you could just note how far off it is, but I was expecting it to be a lot closer. br>Review is now up to date: I decided to give it three stars instead of one because I discovered that it can be calibrated. To remove the card backing, pry off the cover and use the mechanism to pry it off. There's a metal coil on the back that you can tighten with a small screw driver until it's just right. To figure out the setting, I used a calibrated hydroset 2 hygrometer, which now appears to be fairly accurate. If you don't have a reference and are handy with small tools, I wouldn't buy this. Also, for those who want more precision, they should provide more instructions. Does it really make a difference if you're off by 8%? It bothers me because I have a desert scorpion and need to keep the enclosure dry.
I bought two of these completely useless devices, and they both read 70 degrees and 70% humidity at all times, regardless of the conditions. I put one in the fridge and it still read 70 deg and 70% RH. The fact that both have the same issue suggests that the poor quality and unreliable readings aren't a one-off occurrence, but rather a common occurrence with these Zoo Med products.
I couldn't figure out why my bearded dragon was always hiding in the shade for the first couple of weeks until I discovered that the tank was 20 degrees warmer than the two thermometers I bought said it was. I bought an infrared thermometer and haven't looked back since. Don't waste your money on this pathetic attempt at a "thermometer. ".
