If you're measuring ambient air temperature, start on the warm side and work your way down. br>Place the thermometer under the substrate if you're measuring the temperature of the floor. One is on the warm side, one is on the cool side, and one is beneath the substrate over the heat pad.
I have an Exo Terra 12x12x18 and use this thermometer/hygrometer. Each probe has suction cups. There are small spaces near the back of the Exo Terra tank where you can run the cords. You can take off the lid and thread the cords through the small holes, then suction the probes into place in your tank. I hope this information is useful.
It's not a big deal. The temperature of an area is sensed by the probes. So all you have to do is figure out which probe belongs in which area.
No, it's not a good idea to use this near a watering can.

I purchased three of these, one of which was defective. I contacted the company, but the email address they provided did not work, and I was unable to send videos and photos of the product. The phrase "email address removed" literally means "email address removed. " Isn't that helpful? I really like these, but I'm in desperate need of a replacement, so I'm going to have to return this one and buy one from the store for now. These are accurate, and I enjoy using them, but the price, as well as the inability to contact customer service to request a replacement, is extremely frustrating.

I use this to monitor conditions in my crested gecko tank I use this to monitor conditions in my crested gecko tank I use this to monitor I like how easy the probes are to maneuver and how quickly I can get a reading. It's useful to be able to see record highs and lows so I don't miss any bad conditions in their tank by accident. This is a standard that every owner should have--it's far superior to a standard analog, which can lose accuracy over time.
Over the course of a baby's life, maintaining a safe tropical temperature is crucial. (Navy and work-related travel!) I'm sitting my daughter's Columbian Rainbow Boa. ) played a significant role in his long life. He is actually 26 years old right now!.
This really helps me keep my tarantulas' terrarium clean and tidy. The back has some to help it prop up, but it's very easy to break by accident. I wish the display could be read more easily from a distance. Amazon has requested that suction power be rated. Suction cups do not have a feature.
It performs better than my analog hygrometer and thermometer, and it's half the price of what I could get at my local pet store. I'd like to see some recommendations for where to put the humidity sensor based on its intended use, but I'll just fiddle with it until I figure out the best location for getting a good idea of the humidity in my snake tank. The only real issue is that the temp sensor's suction cup was so bent that it was initially unusable (it wouldn't stay stuck).
So, I'd say that the temperature is fairly accurate. But I have hermit crabs, and it is difficult to find an accurate digital hygrometer when humidity is over 70%. This meter always reads 99% on the inside of the tank, while the minimum always reads 0% (WHAT? Then I'd take it out and it would read the average room humidity (40%). So, I guess I'll go try something else.
The temperature sensor is in excellent condition. The humidity sensor doesn't work all of the time. It would benefit greatly from the addition of a backlight. My received model's sensors appear to be identical, whereas an older version I was given had a distinct difference between the temperature and humidity sensors. This isn't the best, but it's also not the worst; however, I wouldn't use it in a situation where precision is critical. The older unit works 100% of the time in both modes and is awesome in both modes and is awesome in both modes and is awesome in both modes and is awesome in% With my African fat-cat, I use the newer unit. tail.
The temperature seemed to be correct, but that was about it. The hygrometer was never accurate and was always all over the place. I had been using his for about two weeks when I noticed condensation behind the glass. I couldn't read any of the numbers on the screen because it had become so thick and foggy. Overall, I would not recommend this product to anyone and would recommend looking for a thermometer and hygrometer separately somewhere else.
