I'd buy it again, and at a better price than Petsmart. br>The only drawback I've noticed is that it only comes with one sticky pad. If you have a 16-year-old son or daughter, year old decided to remove it, uh, like a dingleberry. I wish you luck in getting it on again. Since this shouldn't be a one-time use item, it seems like including a couple of sticky pads would be a good idea. Only use this type of item. We recently acquired a bearded dragon and have been working to improve our equipment in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for him. br>br>I have a few of these - one for the cool side of the tank, since we already had one near the basking area - as well as a spare br>br>I put these new ones to the test in the most extreme conditions imaginable - directly beneath the UVB mercury vapor basking lamp - The dials were set to 110 degrees, which matched the other thermometer we had. Then I took them to two locations in the house where we have thermometers that are always reading differently. I let them settle in these two locations, and the temperature readings were identical to those of the other two thermometers. br>br>After that, I thought they were adequate for my purposes. I put one in the pet drawer for emergencies or our next set up and put the other on the cool side of the tank, where it reads a fairly consistent 80 degrees. I was so happy with them that I ordered a few more just in case. I'd rather be safe than sorry, and these are so inexpensive that having a couple isn't a bad idea - as well as an additional basking bulb and a ceramic heat bulb Advantages: br>br> br>br>Price: $3 br>br> The price of 99 is extremely low. I'm not questioning its accuracy; I think it's fine; however, the numbers and arrow are so small that I can't see them without squinting in the back of my 10 gallon tank. br>Another thing I didn't care for was the shape of the adhesive pad, which is shaped like a donut with a small circle punched out of it. And the instructions make no mention of it. Is it better to punch out or leave the small circle? Because the temperature probe appears to be in the middle, I believe it could make a difference whether it is covered or not.
