Questions & Answers

Is the thermomiter going to fall apart quickly because of the adhesive?

Although the adhesive is quite strong and will last through multiple washings, it is not permanent. I keep a roll of double-sided tape in my toolkit and replace the tape backing when it comes off.

Is there a need for batteries?

No, batteries are not required for this item.

Is there a way to reset the system? Since I received it in the mail, the temperature has remained unchanged. ?

There is no way to return to the previous state. They aren't extremely precise, so they might not move much.

Is this something that would stick to a cage with mesh walls?

To attach it to the cage, you'll need to purchase sticky double-sided tape or something similar.

It appears to be functioning properly and adheres well to the terrarium's side
4/5

I'd buy it again, and at a better price than Petsmart. br>The only drawback I've noticed is that it only comes with one sticky pad. If you have a 16-year-old son or daughter, year old decided to remove it, uh, like a dingleberry. I wish you luck in getting it on again. Since this shouldn't be a one-time use item, it seems like including a couple of sticky pads would be a good idea. Only use this type of item. People might just want to pull it off and move it at some point, but that's just my humble opinion. br>If you found my review to be helpful in any way, please click the "yes" button below. Thanks!.

Effective/Accurate little thermometer at a great price
5/5

We recently acquired a bearded dragon and have been working to improve our equipment in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for him. br>br>I have a few of these - one for the cool side of the tank, since we already had one near the basking area - as well as a spare br>br>I put these new ones to the test in the most extreme conditions imaginable - directly beneath the UVB mercury vapor basking lamp - The dials were set to 110 degrees, which matched the other thermometer we had. Then I took them to two locations in the house where we have thermometers that are always reading differently. I let them settle in these two locations, and the temperature readings were identical to those of the other two thermometers. br>br>After that, I thought they were adequate for my purposes. I put one in the pet drawer for emergencies or our next set up and put the other on the cool side of the tank, where it reads a fairly consistent 80 degrees. I was so happy with them that I ordered a few more just in case. I'd rather be safe than sorry, and these are so inexpensive that having a couple isn't a bad idea - as well as an additional basking bulb and a ceramic heat bulb Advantages: br>br> br>br>Price: $3 br>br> The price of 99 is extremely low. McDonald's is not a $3 meal. br>br>Accuracy: br>br>Intelligence: br>br>Intelligen My two are, as previously stated, quite accurate. br>br>Application: br>br>Application: br>application: application: The sticker is fine, but you should clean the side of your tank with alcohol and let it dry before applying it. (Of course, exercise caution when dealing with your pet. ) Allowing them to breathe the fumes is not a good idea! )br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are some disadvantages to using this product. My other thermometer's velcro is better than the sticker on this one. If and when I remove this, I expect I'll have to use a razor blade to remove the sticker, which I'll replace with a sticky velcro dot. It's easier to remove that, and you can take it off as needed for cleaning, testing, or replacement. In the current state of affairs, I can't complain about the sticker. br>br>Bottom Line: Be smart and thoroughly test your unit(s). But, honestly, I'd do it with any piece of equipment, regardless of price, and the price on this is incredible. The meter is well suited to my needs, and I recommend you give it a try because it is as accurate as a dial meter can be. In the worst-case scenario, you can return it to Amazon for free if it is defective. Amazon Prime is a huge plus!.

Great item, lots of features for a low price, lightweight, and appears to be fairly accurate
4/5

I purchased three of these to assist me in determining the temperature in the bedrooms when the central forced air heat is turned on. With them, I purchased matching hygrometers, which I plan to mount on the wall in the style of an analog weather station. The results were all the same, which is a good sign of consistency. PROS: br>br>
- light but strong enoughbr>- a gauge that is simple to readbr>- comes with a roll of mounting tapebr>- air can reach the hole through small channels in the backbr>- Cons: I like the color code; it's great for quick glances. br>br>I like the color code; it's great for quick glances. br>br>I like the color code; it's
- Depending on how much you pay for it. If you can find it for around $5, it's a steal. I've seen these for nearly twice as much on the internet and in stores. You can get fancier at a higher price if your application requires it. br>- Although it has a larger diameter than some of the other designs, I do not consider this to be a deal breaker. The advantage is that you don't need binoculars or a magnifying glass to see what the gauge is telling you. I used this for a different purpose and was surprised at how well it worked for me. br>br>Not good if you want to keep a low profile. br>br>Again, I used this for a different purpose and was surprised at how well it worked for me. br>br>I used this for a different purpose and was surprised at how well it worked for me.

That's fine with me, but I'll be replacing it with another type
3/5

I'm not questioning its accuracy; I think it's fine; however, the numbers and arrow are so small that I can't see them without squinting in the back of my 10 gallon tank. br>Another thing I didn't care for was the shape of the adhesive pad, which is shaped like a donut with a small circle punched out of it. And the instructions make no mention of it. Is it better to punch out or leave the small circle? Because the temperature probe appears to be in the middle, I believe it could make a difference whether it is covered or not.

It's difficult to notice
3/5

Because these thermometers stick out from the back of the snake tank, it's difficult to place them in a visible location. You want your thermometers to be low to the ground so they can measure where your snake/reptile actually hangs out. I didn't want to put them in the back of the tank because that's where all of the tank's little extras are kept. Plants. She'll be able to crawl on these things. As a result, I hung them on the walls on the sides. Because they're analog, you have to look at them straight on, which makes reading them a little difficult; however, they were inexpensive, so I purchased them. However, now that I have them on the side walls, I've decided to get some digital ones so that I can see what the temperature is more easily and from a different angle. Plus. The humidity reading is also on the new ones I'll be receiving.

Reptiles will enjoy it
5/5

This is beneficial to reptiles. This is how I monitor the heat temperature of my sulcatas. When a certain temperature is reached, it moves. The temperature inside my sulcatas enclosure reached triple digits this summer, despite the fact that we had the air conditioning on. It got up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit (which is why it's red). After I sprayed it down, the temperature began to drop. This is something I would advise you to use. If your reptiles are particularly powerful, be aware that it will eventually fall off (as it did twice to me).

This statement is incorrect

I figured I'd take a chance and order one of these thermometers for my motorcycle's dashboard. I really wanted it to work, but it consistently reads about 10°F too warm. br>br>***Update - I was able to manually spin the background gauge and align it with the needle marker after removing the plastic cover.
