Questions & Answers

Is it a good source of vitamin A?

If you're unsure, consult the data.

Would a red ear slider or the reptomin floating sticks be a better fit?

For years, I've been giving this to my red ear sliders. They seem to prefer it to the reptomin sticks, and none of them have become ill as a result of eating it (and they've definitely grown over the years). To me, this appears to be a high-quality product.

Is it possible to feed "growth formula" to my fully grown red eared slider? I bought it instead of the usual maintenance formula by accident. ?

You can do it, I'm sure. However, I no longer feed my turtles this and instead feed them lettuce, boiled eggs, baby shrimp, strawberries, and carrots, and they are ecstatic! This is something I do every other day. I chop it up and combine it with other ingredients to make a salsa. They're doing exceptionally well.

Can soft-shell turtles eat this?

Because of calcium deficiency, the shell of my baby aquatic turtle became soft. br>She ate this brand's smaller pellets, but she needed more calcium, so she took those calcium tablets.

It is extremely popular among turtles
5/5

Wild turtles love it, but don't feed it to them! This was a big hit with the turtles and ducks. br>br>near our house is a turtle pond, and I get tired of seeing people throw bread and other highly unhealthy foods to the wild animals. br>br>I bought this turtle food, and my family and I have enjoyed being able to feed the turtles while knowing that it isn't completely devoid of nutrition. br>br>Even the ducks get excited and come over to eat some of the food. By the way, feeding bread to ducks can lead to a condition known as "Angel Wing," which you can learn more about here. So, while this isn't duck food, I'm sure it's better for them than the cruddy white bread I've seen people throw at them. AHHH! br>br> br>br>I volunteer at a wildlife center, so I've seen the devastation firsthand. I used to be a bread giver, too, before I realized what could go wrong. I include this information in the review in the hopes that someone who reads it will learn and then teach others about the dangers of feeding bread to animals.

What a fantastic offer! I'm not sure why people are using rulers to measure the container and why their turtle tanks are so cloudy
5/5

Any tank should never look as cloudy as some others' tanks have shown them to be with proper care and the right equipment. This formula does not cloud the tank, and my turtle Shelby enjoys the food, which comes in a 45oz. I won't have to buy pellets for a while because of the size I got; the pellets are a little bigger than I expected, but I'm more excited because my turtle is quite large. For the extra calcium, I also bought "Zoo Med 6 Pack of Aquatic Turtle Banquet Block Value Packs, Regular Size, 30 Blocks Total, Food and Calcium Supplement. " This is a fantastic deal, and I strongly suggest it.

Turtles in a good mood
5/5

I bought this turtle food two weeks ago, and we are very pleased with it. The following is the Amazon listing for the item: "Zoo Med Natural Aquatic Turtle Food" is a brand of natural aquatic turtle food developed by Zoo Med. This item shipped on time, was well packaged, and arrived on time; in short, it's a good product, and I now have a much larger container of turtle food than my two red ear sliders will consume this year. The turtles adore them, the fish are delighted, and the ducks are unconcerned, but the high-quality pellets appear to be superior to those I've purchased in the previous year. There are larger pellets in the container for medium and larger turtles, and there isn't much dust or powder. We keep a small amount in a smaller screw top container for daily feedings, but the large screw top container keeps the extras closed and dry. Compared to driving to the nearest pet store, the price and quantity are far superior. If you're like me and a lot of other people who rely on reviews to make informed purchasing decisions, I hope this information has helped you decide whether or not to buy it. I stand by my endorsement of this turtle food, and my small zoo of animals will not object.

If your turtles aren't fond of it, you can remove it
5/5

If your turtles aren't happy, simply starve them to death. It will be eaten eventually. Because our turtles didn't seem to enjoy these larger pellets, we let them eat growth formula for WAY too long. They grew much faster than they should have and quickly outgrew their tanks, so we decided to stop feeding them for a few days (fun fact: they can easily go a week without eating and are probably fine for up to three weeks). They eventually ate all of it, and it's now their only source of nutrition. Don't give up. The food is excellent value for money - This container easily lasts months for our two fully grown red ear slider turtles (we feed them every 15 days or so). 20 pellets per day at dusk, plus mealworms if desired). I'm going to stock up on supplies!.

Red is a good color to eat
5/5

eared Slider Turtles are a type of turtle with a long tail. There are five RES turtles in our care, ranging in age from 3 to 35 years. For the past four years, I've been feeding them Zoo Med turtle food as a supplement to their normal diet. It is a big hit with the turtles. It's a well-balanced, nutrient-dense diet. Although I believe it is best to provide plenty of leafy greens and vegetable matter for the turts, I am confident that they could survive on Zoo Med pellets alone. Petco has been fulfilling our orders through Amazon. They are always on time and at a reasonable price.

Dweeby Chic approved after turtle testing! This food is a hit with my red-eared sliders
5/5

Dweeby Chic approved after turtle testing! br>br>I've been feeding this brand of turtle food to my two red-eared slider turtles for a long time and they love it. This food floats on top of the water, and every time I put some in the tank, they race around eating up all the little pellets as quickly as they can. They appear to enjoy their meals, and I find it entertaining to watch them eat. br>br>They can eat the entire pellet in one bite for the most part, so there isn't much mess in the tank when they're done. My filter easily picks up any crumbs that are left behind. br>br>I was buying this from my local pet store before this order, but after they raised the prices yet again, I decided to shop around and discovered that I could order the 45 oz maintenance formula for two dollars more than the 12 oz at the pet store. I'll be ordering it online from now on because that was a no-brainer for me.

Large balls and a large bottle at a great price
5/5

I got mine for $13 and thought it was a great deal. This is a LARGE container, unlike the ones I've seen at Petco or Smart, and please note that these are the large balls, not the tiny food balls. If you have a baby turtle, you should get the zoo med food, which is a bit smaller. Of course, if it remains in the water, it will soften, but my turtles prefer to eat them as soon as possible. br>br>Also from Zoo med, I got this other product that the turtles adore. LARGE CONTAINER AT AN EXTREMELY LOW PRICE. br>br>Zoo Med Sun Dried Large Red Shrimpbr>REMEMBER TO PROVIDE YOUR TURTLES WITH A UVB AND HEAT LIGHT SOURCE IN THE SAME AREA. , The sun and heat will help them live longer, and they will die if they do not get it because fungus and bacteria will remain on their bodies if they do not get it.

As usual, convenient and prompt shipping
5/5

It's easy to buy in this size, and shipping is quick, which is ideal for our needs. We'll be buying it again because we have a turtle that is constantly hungry! 🐢.
