I've tried banana and papaya, but there's just something about this flavor that makes my cresties and leachies clean their bowls. I like the idea of including insects as a source of additional protein. My leachies, in particular, because I'm aware that they can be carnivorous in the wild. I give all of the protein a big thumbs up. My geckos seem to prefer a watery consistency that's a little thinner than ketchup. It helps them slurp up more easily. I also add a pinch of calcium powder to mine as I'm mixing it, just to give it a boost. To mix/shake it up, I squirt the portions into their bowls using a plastic picnic style ketchup bottle. If you have a group of more than one person, 2 geckos This is why I recommend doing it in batches. It keeps in the fridge for up to a week and is SO MUCH EASIER that way!.
I've got a swarm of L. ligubris that eat fruit flies or have CGD. This is by far their favorite flavor, and it has produced the best feeding response of any flavor or brand, which I believe is due to the fact that mourning geckos can eat a much higher percentage of insects than Crested Geckos. I'd suggest experimenting with the consistency you start with, and perhaps spraying the tank with water when you feed to help keep the food moist. br>br>Overall, I love this product and will never use another brand of crestie food.

My gecko had not only tried it, but had eaten quite a bit for her size (she was a teeny baby), and I didn't even have to add a drop of honey to entice her, as suggested by a fellow keeper, breeder, and hobbyist who is past "more experienced than me" and close to "goddess of knowledge and tips and tricks. It's an excellent investment. Personally, I think it's a little pricey, but it received positive reviews, so I went ahead and purchased it. I have a small colony of mourning geckos (juveniles) that seem to get along fine. I also add live fruit flies to the mix to boost their feeding response. Also, adding a small drop of organic honey to get your picky geckos to eat this is a good way to get them to eat it. This was actually told to me by a fellow keeper, and they seem to enjoy the sweetness.
My crested gecko wouldn't eat the other kind I got because it didn't have any insects. Fortunately, he enjoys this one. He's about three years old and is a baby. They didn't know how old he was until he was 5 months. I recently purchased a scale in order to keep track of his weight. He's weighing in at 5 grams, which is fantastic. Because the heat lamp dries it out for me, a lot of it goes to waste, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can't wait until he gets bigger because he's my first crested gecko.
