Questions & Answers

What should I do if my turtle isn't growing?

There could be a number of factors at play. First and foremost, does your turtle have a basking light as well as a rock or floater to dry off in? Its shell will not shed and thus will not grow if it remains wet all day. Second, it is most likely still hibernating in preparation for the winter. Mine sleeps in his cave and eats sparingly, which is to be expected. Third, if your turtle is small, you can cut these pellets in half and put guppy fish in the tank to help it grow by stimulating natural hunting instincts. Try it ;

Is it safe to feed this to a baby (approximately 1-year-old)? 2 inches in length) res? I was wondering if this was the same as the baby food, which doesn't have an ingredient list online. ?

Hello, eag_99,br>The ingredients are different this time, with lower protein and fat percentages. The ReptoMin Pro Baby is unquestionably the way to go. No, this isn't the same.

What would be the duration of this?

I have one turtle that is approximately 12 inches long and two turtles that are approximately 6 inches long. I was able to use this container for a period of two years.

I have two turtles, one of which is 2 inches long and the other is 3 inches long. Should I feed them a certain number of pallets?

These pellets may be too large for turtles of that size; I have three turtles ranging in size from 8 to 10 inches. I'd start with 3 or 4 pellets per turtle to begin with. You can give them a couple more if they finish them in 30 minutes. Soon enough, you'll be able to tell how much they'll consume.

It's a hit with the turtles! I own a piece of land on a freshwater lake
5/5

The turtles at our dock are something my wife and I enjoy feeding. This turtle food is a big hit with them. Every evening, they return to eat. We had a total of 25 painted turtles the other night. They begin to swim in when they see us approaching the dock. It's comforting to know that we're providing them with a nutritious meal. I've tried a lot of different kinds of turtle food. This is without a doubt the most popular among our little friends.

Tommy is a big fan
5/5

In my alley, I rescued a turtle that was on its way to a busy street. I tossed him into the pond in my backyard. I decided to spoil him with some free food after he foraged for food on his own for a few days. He quickly realized that living in my yard was a plus because it included tasty turtle food. He's now waiting for me to feed him outside. This wild turtle decided that floating turtle food is a good thing after only one feeding. He devours every last morsel and appears to be quite content.

FOR THE PRICE, THIS IS HUGE! I must admit, I did not anticipate the container being this large when I placed my order
5/5

For the $5 I paid, I was expecting average-sized turtle food, but this container contains the equivalent of five average Turtle containers. It was literally the size of my hand and arm, and we'll have enough pellets to last about three months for my two Peninsula Cooters. I'll never pay $5 for a tiny container at the pet store when I can get these Mammoth size pellets for the same price. br>UPDATE- I just ordered my second canister of these pellets, and they lasted about 3 to 4 months for my two turtles, as expected. Here's a picture of the size of this turtle food container, which is literally bigger than my turtle LOL.

It's great for turtle owners, but it shouldn't be the only thing they feed their pets
5/5

This food is an important part of the diet of my husband and I's ten pet turtles of various sizes. Mud Turtles, Sliders, and Map Turtles are among the creatures we have on hand. This food appears to be consumed by all of them. Other foods were tried, but they were a lot more picky. We'd have one (or two) turtles who wouldn't eat anything else, and it became difficult to keep track of who ate what! br>br>It's important to remember that turtles should eat a variety of foods. We also feed ours live worms, greens (romaine lettuce, etc), crickets, live and thawed fish, and freeze dried treats on occasion. A turtle will always prefer live food over Repto min, and live food provides exercise because they must swim after and "hunt" their prey, so it's also entertaining.

I bought two of these products because they were so good
5/5

Combine a 64-pound bag of Tetra Reptomin food sticks with a 12-ounce bag of Flukers red shrimp and two of the two. I have MONTHS worth of food for my two adult RES by storing 18 oz cans of Tetrafauna Repto Treat Suprema red pellets in a pet food canister (which keeps them fresh for a long time). They get a scoop of this mix every other day with produce in between, or every day if I'm on vacation or have run out of produce, and it's a very cost-effective way for me to keep them happy and healthy. br>(For all three products mentioned, a review was left on the purchase).

IN MY 22 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE WITH OTHER PRODUCTS, THIS IS THE BEST ON THE MARKET
5/5

For my Red Eared Sliders, also known as pond sliders, this is by far the best product on the market. It's how I got them to be on the verge of breaking the Guinness Book of World Records for weight in captivity for their breed! In the 22 years that I've had the two turtles, I've tried other products and they're just not as good. My biggest gripe with the others is that they aren't as well-made as these are. The others disintegrate quickly in the water, leaving a lot of waste and requiring me to feed them slowly, a handful at a time, whereas with ReptoMin (vet recommended), I dump a 1/2cup each into their area in the water, walk away for 5 minutes, and return to find all of them gone, with no waste/no mess! I repeat the process, but this time with only 1/3 cup (slower eating), and then 1/4 cup each time after that until they're no longer interested. They may temporarily stop eating to go potty, but once they've done so, they'll resume eating, so don't be fooled. I only feed them once every four days. Small turtles require more frequency, but I don't believe in restricting their eating. 5 days apart, and up to 12 days apart if out of town; small turtles require more frequency, but I don't believe in restricting their eating. If they are not hungry, they will eat until they are satisfied, and if they are, they will stop or not eat at all. Unlike me, they don't seem to eat because they're bored. I've seen people only feed a few pieces at a time, and I'd rather waste some food than deny them what their bodies require. I feed mine in the tub, which my husband approves of. After we've finished showering, I scrub with water, and after they've finished eating, I scrub with water after netting any solid waste and draining it. The tub in our house is the cleanest in the neighborhood! But it is true that if you stay on top of it, it will take you no time at all. We don't have to "clean" the tub or shower. If you have small turtles, a plastic tub of lukewarm water is recommended. We find the water to be almost cool, at around 77 degrees Fahrenheit (72 degrees Fahrenheit). below, as their bodies begin to shut down for hibernation when it gets colder than that), and toss your ReptoMin in close proximity to each turtle, as you don't want them to waste time looking for/swimming to their food. I'm drinking more water than I'm eating. They'll take a bite out of the water that's been layered with sticks. I've noticed that if they take too long to eat, they lose their appetite, just like me, and stop eating before they're completely satisfied, only to be hungry again sooner than usual. You'll be overjoyed to learn that their tank is in good working order. When compared to feeding them in there, filters don't need to be changed nearly as often, and they receive genuine satisfaction from a contented caretaker. It's wonderful to be Theresa. Between feedings, Theodora doesn't beg for food, so if one or both of them are clamoring for my attention, (they can make a lot of noise smacking that water! They either want to go for a walk or they want to get out of the house. Climb around in their tank (even though it's dry) to get their "backscratchy" (gently rub their shells and/or lightly scratch their shells with your nails- Theresa pushes against my hand, moving under my hand to where she wants it the most), to have Tetra cream rubbed on their limbs, head, butt, tail, and shell. Also, the best cuticle cream ever, or finding a dark cool place to lay a clutch of unfertilized eggs (usually under my laundry pile on the closet floor, or under my bed, etc. ). If you have patience, they will teach you how to comprehend them. pay close attention They clamor to get back into the tank, even if it's just to pee and drink; if they want out, they'll clamor again. Alternatively, if they want to eat, they'll slam their heads against the tub. br>br>Feed ReptoMin to your healthy babies and watch them grow! If I give them treats, it's always after they've finished their pellets to ensure a balanced diet. MAKE SURE TO MAINTAIN PROPER LIGHTING SO THEY CAN DIGEST THE FOOD PROPERLY; MAKE SURE TO MAINTAIN PROPER LIGHTING SO THEY CAN DIGEST THE FOOD PROPERLY; MAKE SURE TO MAINTAIN PROPER LIGHTING SO THEY CAN DIGEST THE FOOD PROPERLY; MAKE SURE TO MAINTAIN PROPER LIGHTING SO THEY CAN DIGEST THE FOOD PROPERLY; M because they can't fully process calcium, which is crucial to a turtle's survival! The only way to guarantee healthy, solid, and beautiful colored shells, as well as eggs that won't bind, is to use lighting. Otherwise, she will die unless the tumor is surgically removed by a veterinarian ($$$). I hope this information has been helpful to at least one person. I've rescued a lot of turtles from people who didn't know what to do with them. They're a lot more complicated than you might think, but they're still tough. When you're healthy, you're tough!.

Turtles love it when you buy it in bulk
5/5

My red- This food has been consumed by eared sliders since they were the size of a 50 cent piece, and they still enjoy it. I also appreciate the large tub, which allows me to avoid restocking every few weeks. I keep one of the smaller food containers on hand to fill as needed from this tub.
