In theory, I like these because I'm trying to cut down on my use of plastic. They never leaked, and my crested gecko was able to eat and drink from them. In a closed-loop system, however, bottom magnetic holder (as with a lot of the faux-leather items) In a high-moisture environment (such as the ones sold by Pangea), these paper cups are prone to mold growth. the humidity level in the environment As a result, I've reverted to using plastic.
If you have a lot of animals, this is a great option. Because I have so many geckos, I don't mix their food in the cups, but I do recommend pre-mixing because of the texture. In a different dish, mix your food. If you tend to make your food more watery, you might have a problem with these. I use a food-grade squeeze bottle, add my food and water, shake, then fill my cups. br>br>These are a perfect fit for the clear, acrylic, magnetic gecko feeders. br>br>Honestly, the only issue I have with these is that they mold quickly (and this is due to the CUP, not the food). Every other day, I attempt to put out fresh food. Occasionally, however, live insects are used to supplement feeding days. Approximately every two days, these should be replaced. So. If you're on a feeding schedule like mine, you must remove these EO every day, not just when the food is replaced, or else they'll grow stuff.
1. Because of the rougher material, it was a little more difficult to stir the diets, and the harder I stirred, the more bits of diets spilled out of the cup. Stirring is made easier with the smooth plastic cups. 2. br>br>1. br>br>br>br>br>br Similarly, the rougher material makes installing and removing them from some ledges a little more difficult (pressing them in is sometimes required). The plastic cups are easier to put in and take out. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. Then there's the fact that these can't be reused.
That was 100% on me, not what I was expecting. I was under the impression that these were small. bowls of standard size I didn't read the part about the product weighing around 3 ounces, lol. I intended to use these to feed the stray cats in my neighborhood, but they're far too small. Because this item could not be returned, my cats now use it as a toy. So, just in case anyone else thinks these are regular-sized bowls, I hope my photo demonstrates how small they really are.
The food becomes too dry as a result of the excessive absorption of water by these cups. You can compensate by adding more water, but the food will become too wet once the water has been absorbed. Having small disposable cups on hand makes feeding the gecko a breeze. I had previously used small plastic ones, which were excellent except for the fact that they were made of plastic. I was hoping that these biodegradable cups would be the solution, but they absorb far too much water. br>br>I'm going to use the small ceramic dish again.
I would strongly suggest it.
This is fantastic! Despite being biodegradable, they do not disintegrate when wet food is present. They are easily devoured by my crestie. The only problem I've had is that mold can grow on the bottom after a few days, but by then it's time to change the food. They last me a long time because they come in such a large pack, and I love knowing that they will degrade and won't be on our planet indefinitely!.
My college son uses them with his crested gecko, so I'm a repeat purchaser of this product. These can be difficult to come by in pet stores. This is a fantastic deal, and I plan to buy it again and again.
