The screen is sturdy and allows plenty of light to pass through.
That's how I've got it set up.
It is not going to happen. If my memory serves me correctly, you'll need one that's 24x12 in size.
The size of the shrimp will determine how long it takes to cook. If they are very small, they may fit through, but if they are 1/2 inch or larger, they should be fine.

These have worked for reptiles, amphibians, and rodents in the past. They're tough and come in a variety of sizes, so you can put one on any tank, including an old Metaframe from the 1940s with a slate bottom. The screen is durable and safe to place a heating bulb, ceramic heating unit, or night bulb on top of without risking a fire, and the metal can withstand hamster and rat teeth. Small critters will have some difficulty lifting the lid to escape and go on a night adventure if clips of various types are purchased to fit into the plastic frames of modern tanks. br>The tops' structure is strong enough that I was able to place softball-sized granite rocks near the corners and the metal did not bend or warp. Jumbo rats do not like clips. br>All tanks, except the extra high 39 gallon and other extra high tanks, benefit from the ventilation. Airflow is not possible due to the tank's depth. Unless it's a turtle, any critter in these tanks will require a small clip-on fan to keep the air moving down into the tank. The long 20 gallon and long 39 gallon tanks are two of my favorites. With these tops, the ventilation on the tanks is ideal. br>I've had these tops for more than seven years, and they've been dropped, stored, and even had a small container placed on them. They're also in fantastic shape. It's the only thing I use. I've tried the plastic ones with the fabric screen top and hinges, but they're not very good. br>br>I can send you pictures and answer any questions you might have about this product; I have a variety of sizes: With many in-built features, the tank sizes range from 12"36" to ten gallon tanks. between. It will fit if you measure your tank and choose a size that is within a quarter of an inch of your tank's size. They can be adjusted to some extent.
For my 20 gallon tall aquarium, I purchased the 24x12 as a lid. It arrived slightly bent in places, so one of the corners doesn't sit flat against the tank, but that's not a big deal for me because I'm going to use it for fish. However, I can see it being a problem for something that climbs and can get away. It's difficult to bend the metal back into place because it's so strong, but I'm confident it can be done. br>Although it's perfect for me because the bend allows me to run wires and tubing through it, I'm giving it three out of five stars for reptile owners.
It keeps my inquisitive felines at bay.
The lid is very sturdy. The lid was purchased from Wal-Mart as a backup for a 10 gallon tank. Mart has 3/8" slack on both sides and in the front and back. But there's nothing a good lid clamp can't take care of.
This was purchased for my ten gallon tank, which has been converted from a fish tank to a home for a crested gecko. It fits on the tank but is a little loose around the edges, so I had to purchase four cage clips to secure it firmly to the tank. My crestie likes to rest on the tank's rim and I don't want him to wiggle his way out, so I felt it needed to be more secure. Overall, it's a good product, but it's a little too big for most species, so I'd recommend using cage clips.
We were pleasantly surprised at how well the cover fit our five children. A fish tank with a capacity of 5 gallons. I was unable to locate a reasonably priced glass hood. The purpose of this netting hood is to keep our betta from jumping out of the tank.
It was a perfect fit. It's on par with Zilla or Exo Terra in terms of quality. The Flukers performed admirably.
It does not lock, but it does sit flush against the aquarium frame. Smaller animals will be unable to push it up due to the weight of the material. It appeals to me that it is entirely made of metal.
