Is this a hard cover with a screen protector? Is 18 x 18 a good size? thanks. ?

It's not difficult to complete the task. Plexiglass can be found on the internet or at a hardware store. A 18x18 will not fit under this cover. It's for a 12x12 canvas.

Is this a heat-resistant screen cover? Is it possible to use a 25-watt heating lamp on it?

The screen is metallic and will not warp if exposed to excessive heat, but the frame is plastic and may warp if exposed to excessive heat. We hung our 40-watt lamps on hangers to keep them three-dimensional. 4 inches from the top of the screen

Does this work with the Exo Terra 12x12x18?

My tank's prongs on the inside lip didn't match the prongs on the outside lip. Although the size is correct, it does not fit properly.

Is there a 12x12x18 version of this?

No, I do not believe that is true. It unfolds to fit the tank's length of 36 inches. For my box turtle, I have a 40 gallon long breeder tank that fits perfectly. That's a size of 18x36. You should look for one that is specifically designed for your tank.

This isn't a direct replacement for the older clip style, but it will slide down tightly if you simply dremel off the four protruding plastic clip studs. I'd still use black duck tape around the rim to keep it in place.

I apologize, "Grace M," for copying your review. However, you can't continue to be "Right On" about the issue. br>br>The part I received was for a newer version of the PT2602 with 'circle tabs' for top-mounted locks. br>br>The item on display, and the one I require, is an older model with clips that sit in the top of the tank. br>br>I'm sorry, but I'm not able to use it. It's going back to you. br>br>About the picture, I contacted Amazon! br>br>I also send e-mails. I emailed Exo Terra to see if she knows where I can get the "OLD" style. br>br>I'll post an update once I hear back.

It was exactly what I was looking for. The image is deceiving. Fortunately, I didn't require the item shown in the photo, and the item I received was exactly what I required. This applies to models that are a few years old or newer.

Terra's twist locks are circular. I'm so glad I could get a replacement screen top for my gecko instead of having to buy a new terrarium!.
