Questions & Answers

What is the recommended amount of teaspoon for a 10 gallon pail?

It is way way too much to use 1 teaspoon The amount needed is less than one eighth of a teaspoon for ten gallons In my opinion, 1/16th would be appropriate.

For a 75 gallon container, how much should I use?

As a rule of thumb, one tablespoon of ammonium chloride is equal to four grams. It weighs 5 grams and 4 ounces. A concentration of approximately 4 parts per million of ammonia can be achieved with 5 grams of ammonia per 100 gallons of aquarium water. Half a teaspoon is a good place to start. If the level of ammonia is still not at 4ppm, then add smaller doses until it is.

As a rule, keep chlorine out of aquariums In the sea). The goal for me is to eliminate fish from the Is there a reason to use nh4cl instead of ?

According to my theory, the dechlorinator in water changes removes the chlorine that comes from using Ammonium chloride for the fishless cycle. It worked for me.

This package has been opened, used, and left lying A used item like this has been returned to me
3/5

My ignorance caused the granules to spill all over everywhere as I took off the lid. I did not realize it wasn't sealed when I opened it. Small granules were stuck to the lid and clumps of granules in the threads appeared as though they had been The jerk that returned it for a refund after using the little bit you needed to cycle your tank is greatly appreciated. This is a very dangerous situation. It would have killed the fish in my established aquarium that has live fish in it if I were near it. Rather than put it in the sink, it poured all over my kitchen, floor, and sink. It took me an hour to clean it up. Keeping fish is not a good idea if your tank is so cheap and you cannot afford a 10$ item. It is advisable to use a negative star if there was no seal from the manufacturer. In any case. I also found the delivery to be terrible. It even has a picture of the package on the delivery receipt because it was left on the public sidewalk outside my building by an Amazon driver. Anyone could have walked by and taken it, so a chump in the street could have done the same. Delivery instructions are included with this item I hope you will check them out!.

The following are the steps I took You can guess. The purpose of this was to bring my ten gallon up to two parts per million. In the end, I figured I would need 200% of the dose needed to achieve 4 ppm in a 100 gallon tank, or 200% of a teaspoon. My solution is to mix 20 teaspoons of water with 1 teaspoon of Fritz Powder in a jar. To make my 10 gallon with this solution, I combined everything well, and added 1 tsp of the solution. It took an hour for the water to circulate (with the filter on), then I tested it. With my old eyes, I could tell the results were about 2ppm, maybe a little higher, but I was able to tell them were about 2ppm or so. My chemistry teacher flunked me in high school, so take my advice with a grain of salt (ha! Chemists rejoice! Nevertheless, it seemed to work well Would you mind telling me what you think, sciencey Internet It is also not a good idea to do this to the fish The results of my aquarium cycling adventure will be added to this review over time, but for now I can state definitively that this product will raise your aquarium's ammonia levels. Additionally, I have enough of this stuff left to cycle all the aquarium tanks at Monterey Bay. The second time.

You can start slowly and add more as you go
3/5

Ammonia levels should be brought to 4ppm with 1 level tsp per 100 gallons, according to the instructions. The amount I added was so The water has been tested and it has over 8 ppm (the test kit shows only up to 8 ppm). Although I changed 50% of the water, it still showed 8ppm in the test results. A second one was done and it is now down to four. There's a problem with my math since I added way too many factors. *If that is what you get, add 1/4th of the amount you think you need and test after it has sat for a while and been mixed If you need to add more, do so only if necessary.

A quick tank cycle is perfect for this product

Do you want to cycle your tank really fast? Get a bottle of your favorite nitrifying bacteria, this ammonium chloride, add a dose, and watch your bacteria do their thing! After going fishless for a week, I used Using this ammonium chloride, I fed Spira bacteria a high dose of ammonia and they depleted all the ammonia within three Then I did two more smaller doses until I got the desired effect. I will use this stuff for every new tank I set up.

There is no better stuff than this

That's fine. If you have a fish tank over 10 gallons for the first time, you know you need to cycle it first. Depending on your preference, you can do this with or without the fish, but without is preferred and This powder should be used with one teaspoon per 100 gallons of water as recommended by the instructions. It gave me a reading of around 4PPM for my 40 Gallon Bowfront Aquarium when I used 1/4 tsp. The goal is to gain knowledge (this is what I was hoping About 2 minutes is all it takes for it to work. In addition to being huge, this container is quite heavy. These materials are powerful enough to cycle at least 1000 fish tanks. There are about 2 full cups of powder in this container, which means you will need no more than a quarter teaspoon for a 40-gallon drum. This is an excellent way to get your tank cycled.

Be VERY CAREFUL with this! As a result, I purchased this product to kick start the cycle of my aquarium since it took me over a week and a half to encounter 0ppm ammonia levels after trying the fish food method
4/5

The first thing I did when the box arrived was rip it open with childlike abandon, I was so thrilled to receive it The feeling of glee is similar. In order to make sure there wasn't some unexpected surge of ammonia in the water, I tested my water again, making sure that there was no ammonia at all lurking beneath the neon colored substrate. There is a recommendation on the bottle for 5. 5 g) per 100 gallons to achieve 4 parts per million In the end, I decided to use my trusty kitchen scale, a shot glass and a plastic spoon, adding tiny amounts of powder until I reached 1gm. (I am cycling a 20g tank) Then I would take some off because my scale only works in whole numbers. You can dilute the tank water with a bit of tank water before you dump it in. It's a success! Dexter's Lab (with best voice of mine). It's sort of true. While using the API Freshwater master test kit, I got a strange color that doesn't seem to correspond to what was on the reference chart. The color blue. The answer is yes, Neither the yellow nor the green hues of the normal range of 0 ppm can be seen. It ranges between 25 ppm and 8 ppm. A BLUE number came up for me. I then conducted a quick internet search for my outlier, leading me to what I assumed it was. There is too much ammonia in the air. It works, so this product is good! The truth is, I do too well. In conclusion, if you're like me and cycle an aquarium without fish, by all means, buy this product. It's large enough so that you'll only need to buy one to cycle an aquarium that's large enough to charge Having to learn a new product is the only reason this received only four stars instead of five, as the amount of salt you need to use is very minuscule for water treated in this device.
