Questions & Answers
It isn't dusty, to be sure.
Yes, it's a fine sand, but it seems to suit my tortoise just fine.
This is NOT something I would put in a bearded dragon enclosure! This product claims to be safe, but my bearded dragon has become deathly ill after only 6 days in his enclosure! He refuses to eat and is unable to move his legs in the back. We took this product out of his enclosure in the hopes of helping him. Don't use this product if you care about your dragon.
4 or 5 bags should suffice, in my opinion.

My lizards seem to be in good spirits.
They enjoy using it for both bathing and toileting. I'm pretty sure they've eaten a little bit of it. It's less expensive than chinchilla sand and more secure than play sand.
We took this product out of his enclosure in the hopes of helping him. Do your dragon a favor and don't use this product; I can't say whether it's bad for titles or other reptiles, but I can and will say that my bearded dragon has become very ill since using it. I'm hoping he'll get better now that I've removed this from his enclosure, but it looks like my dragon won't live much longer.
The pee settles into a puddle and doesn't move. The sand, on the other hand, takes HOURS to absorb the liquid to the point where it can be scooped. This means that our tortoise walks all over it, causing clumps of sand to stick to his belly and his legs and feet, and I now have to bathe him EVERY TIME I let him out to walk around, which is at least a couple of times a day. So aggravating! I BELIEVED I HAD PURCHASED THE WHITE SANDS HE HAD BEFORE. That was some excellent material. Unfortunately, I received this package.
For my Bearded Dragon's terrarium, I used this as a second layer substrate over a sand mat layer. He appears to enjoy it, and it provides him with something to delve into as he walks along the bottom. Because of the consumption of sand, there is some debate as to whether it is safe for Bearded Dragons. It's not a big deal if you keep an eye on your beardie or take him or her out of the terrarium for feeding.
It's ideal for his aquarium. It looks lovely and is simple to maintain.
I used this solely for a dig box (Uromastyx and Bearded Dragon), but I would advise everyone not to use it because all lizards lick things to make sure they are safe, and this stuff is thick, rough clumps that stick to the lizards' tongues. Instead, use coconut fiber!.
It was ideal for our bearded dragon's 20-gallon enclosure.
