Although not as small as a window screen, it is still quite small. We used them to collect shells and look for shark teeth.

Multi-Sustainably Yours Multi-Sustainably Yours Multi-Susta Plus Cat). It's the best litter I've ever used, but it's very fine, so I use my old litter scoop to get rid of the big clumps. However, some clumps break off into smaller particles that my regular scooper misses if the cats are extra feisty in the boxes (I have two boy cats who enjoy playing in the litter). That's where these scoopers come in handy, as the mesh is quite fine. Fine enough to catch the smaller clumps that my main scoop misses, but not so fine that individual grains fall through. These reptile sand scoops came in handy, and I'm glad I found them. I was on a mission to find fine mesh cat litter scoops but came up empty-handed.
For sharktooth hunting, it was ideal.
I have no reptiles in my possession. This is what I use to pick up the small particles that tend to escape from my three cat boxes. Although it was clearly not designed for this, it works quite well. The only flaw is that it has squarish corners; rounded edges would be much better. However, using this allows me to keep the litter pretty clean and get an extra week or two out of a pail of letters. Since I bought it, it has more than paid for itself.
I bought this item because I live near the ocean and use it to collect shark teeth that I find in the water. Before the tide takes it out or in, I can easily scoop up the "treasure. " The meshing is just right for letting the sand out while keeping the shark's teeth in place. The handle is also of a good size. It's not huge, but it'll do for now. If you're obsessed with finding shark teeth, this is the book for you.
I placed an order for a "Set of Two: 11" x 3" is the standard size. 9"; 12 inches in length. 2"x5. 5". I was disappointed to receive two of the smaller scoop sizes. Sifting through beach sand for shark teeth was fine, but a dipper with a 1/4" mesh grid worked much better.
It works for hammer cat litter, but scooping time has doubled! I understand that this scooper is intended for small reptiles, but it was mentioned in a review that it was also used for this litter. The issue is the small holes; yes, it gets rid of all the clumps, but it takes effort. Sifting for gold is akin to this. To strain the litter, each scoop must be shook back and forth.
I bought it to clean drains at work instead of cleaning reptile tanks. Much more durable than the low-cost fish nets I'd been buying. I bought them for a specific purpose, and they've served me well.
I received two, but they are both small; unlike the product description, I did not receive one large and one small.
