Questions & Answers
According to the product description, it is suitable for most freshwater environments. Because they specifically stated "freshwater," it appears that it is not suitable for saltwater, but I only have freshwater tanks and therefore have no experience with saltwater.
The standard is one pound per gallon.
Off white
Mine passed away, and I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it.

This is the sand to buy if you need very fine sand for aquatic life that is sensitive to sharp edges or is at risk of eating gravel. It has a lovely, natural appearance and is completely secure. It can be used in any aquarium. br>br>I used two bags (from the set of two) for my 10 gallon African dwarf frog tank, and it worked perfectly. It's lovely and simple to keep clean. When cleaning, there is some dust, but it is minimal if done correctly. Also, thanks to the product that came with the sand, there was no cloudiness when I set it up. br>br>I would highly recommend this aquatic sand!! I can assure you that it is well worth the money!.
You must thoroughly rinse it with a little soap and leave it for three days with the filter on to allow all the particles to settle to the bottom. You'll need to change the sponge for the filter once the water is clear because it will be extremely dirty. And that was the end of it! Beautiful sand with a natural white color that is easy to clean. It appeals to me.
DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT DON'T DO IT D Please spare your media, filter, bubbler, aquarium, and yourself the agony of dealing with this sand, which takes an eternity to settle and constantly clogs our media/filter. Our filter is now making a grinding noise and is constantly clogging our bubbler. You swish the water with the tiniest "swish. " This is in my quarantine tank, and it's been cloudy for hours. I'm awaiting the completion of the cycle. After that, it will be removed. Increase the size of the regular substrate. I despise all of this. It's a good thing I didn't put it in my puffer or feeder tanks! It was a waste of money!.
" Though the lighting used in the product description may lead you to believe otherwise, this is a standard beige color. It's fantastic. ReeFlowers Natural AquaSand is a little lighter than granulated pure cane sugar, and I wouldn't recommend gambling with random white craft sands and substrate intended specifically for reptiles unless you're looking for something natural that's closer to actual white and is equally unlikely to impact the pH or water hardness of your aquarium. If you don't know what you're doing, don't confuse ReeFlowers Pearl White Sand with Natural AquaSand.
Yesterday, 4/21/21, I received the product. br>I haven't finished putting up the decorations yet. br>It's still a little hazy and needs to clear up. He, on the other hand, has already fallen in love with it. br>This sand has a very fine grain, which I believe will be ideal for my frog. This species consumes food by shoveling it into their mouths with their "hands. " Gravel, rocks, and glass pebbles/discs are all dangerous. Because this sand is so soft and fine, swallowing it should not cause any obstruction or danger. I purchased the two-bag deal for a total of ten pounds; he's in a 15 gallon low-profile tank, so one more bag should suffice. I don't want to put too much in there. I'm not sure if I want to clean it yet, so I can't give it a rating.
At first, I was mesmerized by the beauty of the sand. For the past five years, I've been keeping reef tanks. The sand in the tank was lovely after I set up my new 20g cube. Before stocking, I did a full, slow cycle rather than a quick start to ensure proper bacteria colonies were established. It was finally time to move the livestock after six weeks. They were unhappy when I put them in the tank, but I attributed it to the stress of the tank relocation. After four days, everything appeared to be on the verge of dying. Clownfish on the bottom, not swimming, life scarce, but perimeters were near-perfect. I began researching, and Caribsea recalled this sand more than two years ago due to the associated high livestock mortality rate. Heavy metals leeched out of this sand, according to every thread I read, completely wiped out and killed their tanks within a week of using it. It may be fine for freshwater tanks, but please, for the love of God, do not use this sand in a reef tank if you care about your reef fish. The clownfish have been doing well since returning to their old tank; They only returned after a few days. Boba the Shrimp, on the other hand, had a less fortunate fate. RIP.
Seachem added flourish tabs to it after mixing it with fluorite. In my planted tank, I'm hoping it will work well together. When my tank is no longer stained by the driftwood leeching, I'll post an updated photo.
I ordered 8 more bags of white sand, which should have been included in my first order (hitorder again)! I'm furious because after putting it in my fish tank, it completely discolored the white sand and replaced it with brownish sand. UGH, UGH.
