The sand in this picture is for saltwater.
In short, yes. It is best to rinse first. I would research the type of fish that will live in the tank you will keep since it might affect the PH. With cichlids I have achieved good results over a long period of time
There are only a few days left
Is made up of coral and shells crushed together with sand. Grain has no specific size, but if I had to size it I would size as follows How large was the largest shell I found? It had a diameter of just under 5/16"? I can only guarantee that my cichlids are absolutely in LOVE with it.

, Caribbean Sea Weight in pounds. ACS00050, Irregular Aragonite Reef Sand for Aquarium, 40-80 lbs. , Caribbean Sea I am showing the stock photo of a great aragonite sand, the photo is a close-up This is an up photo, so it's not as large as you may think (grain size). It only needed to be rinsed once, so it was very silt-free, and the grain size is uniform and clean. No matter how many times you wash it, your water will be cloudy, but mine cleared up in a few hours. The color is a little off. It looks white under my LEDs (blue) but it's really white. For reference, this is the same as Reef Sand CaribSea Dry Aragonite Special Grade Reef Sand 15 lb, but it's delivered in a 40-pound bag. The bag weighs one pound.
There was a lot more to rinse off from one bag than from the Stir and pour off the water until it is nearly clear using a bucket and a hose. I used RO water for the last rinse. My goal was to find a grain size that was a bit larger and I found it. It's very uniformed.
It met my needs for my reef aquarium well. Because it is dusty, I put it in a 5-gallon bucket in two batches and stirred it with my hand while the water overflowed. Every batch took about 5 minutes to prepare, and then I added it The skies were still a bit cloudy in the early morning, but were clear by the afternoon.
Stunning tank with a great sense of realism. Although I cleaned thoroughly, I used it in a freshwater set up. I would recommend it for saltwater setups. There have been no issues, and the fish are getting very big, healthy, and fat (we are on the third round of expansion If you do your water changes, stop using those to grab hold of the silt. To remove all of it will take months. Ideally, I recommend setting up the tank with a DE type filter or something similar and stirring up all the silt to get rid of Despite the time it takes to clear the tank, the tank looks great once it is out, but patience is needed.
There were reviews that stated the tank would take awhile to clear up after the sand was added, but I provided the tank with some time before adding the sand Over the course of a few days, I washed mine. In the end, I added 80 lbs of live rock to my 60 gallon tank which I planted with Though this amount may be a bit much and could have been accomplished with 60 to 70 pounds, it still looks great. The water stayed 95% clear for 24 hours, and the substrate should be level as I like and have a 3" depth at The granules range in size from one millimeter to three millimeters. I'm pleased with the way things are going so far.
It is a medium coarseness that stays on the floor during water changes, yet it looks like a crushed coral reef sand to me. The color looks natural but is a bright white. I would purchase this product again in a heartbeat.
The substrate is perfect right now because crushed coral and fine sand are in perfect balance. The buffer does an excellent job of maintaining a stable pH in my water. From now on, I will use it in all of my aquariums.
Despite washing the sand as specified in the package, I was unable to get rid of the white dust that came out. Last but not least, I used a small portion thinking it would work, but once the fish started moving inside the aquarium it clouded the entire water. The fish tank shouldn't be recommended for any type of fish.
