During the time I was buying these, I didn't cut them. I bought these for my aqua clear HOB filter. Although it's cuttable, it's not as tough as you might think.

Many people make their own, and that is fine, but these are an excellent option for those who are seeking to simplify things.
Make sure the pads are changed regularly to prevent excessive accumulation of nutrients. In the United States, they are known as polishing pads because they catch the fine particles that cause clouds of water to form. Depending on the size of the tank, filtering all the water may take some time, but it will definitely clear cloudiness from an appropriately sized tank.
I did not like how things turned out. Even though they are thick, when they get wet they become soggy like soggy My apologies. I must have used them in the wrong way. I wasn't happy with it, but the fact that it didn't work for me doesn't mean it's a bad product. Nevertheless, I will continue to experiment with them to see if they work in my 5-gallon.
Since I did not thoroughly shop around, I cannot speak to the price, but in my opinion, I think quality always trumps price. I have tried other brands before and these ones seem to work the best.
This is a topic I don't have much to say. Purchasing from this seller a number of times and I always receive a legitimate product. Product has performed as described, and price is by far the lowest I have seen, which is why I purchase In my opinion, you should buy this pet store's goods, unless you can find a better deal or insist on supporting a local pet store.
The problem with these is that they get gunky It is understandable that with a floss so fine, what gets caught is everything and It is amazing how well they work, but you will need to replace them frequently. They are pretty inexpensive, which is a good thing.
There is no doubt that this product is designed to disintegrate. It would normally need replacing every three months. but after two months you open your filter and you have this product that looks like dough. The filter is very hard to remove.
There are still some of my older power filters that I use for mechanical micron filters, and I use these pads in them. Keeping the water column in my six planted aquariums is maintained by weekly micron filtration - a weekly micron filter is an important part of this process These areas have a rich fauna and flora, as well. A healthy diet. In order to micron these tanks, I use Aquaclear filters. It is the sponge from the filter that is on the bottom pad. For fine filtering, I then add another of these pads, and for coarse filtering, a Buon Vino 0 is added. The filter pad has a 5 micron mesh. It has been shown to be superior to diatomaceous earth filters in removing particulates down to a half micron in size.
My filter needs to be changed every two weeks because it looks brown and gross due to all the gunk it collects. In the past, I never put these in my water filter canister because I believed they wouldn't make a difference, but I have noticed my water is much clearer since I have begun changing them You can also get them for a really low price.
