Questions & Answers
A 9 gallon Fluval tank serves as the tank for this device. There is no problem with it.
A product page for a top fin filter cartridge describes the design as allowing for extra carbon or other filter media to be added. As I am yet to replace mine, I am not sure how this work. If you cut a slit in the cartridge's top, you can add media to it. Two cartridges are able to fit in this slot. The carbon can either be added to or replaced in the advertisement, so I am not certain if they are implying it can be done. Whenever the carbon needs replacing, I intend to replace it every 4 years I suggest you keep the cartridge for 6 weeks if it fits into the cartridge if it doesn't fall apart. Regarding your question, if the cartridge fits, you can replace the carbon with an equal amount or more if it will fit.
It might fall apart every three years, if its still in good shape. In about a year, you replace the ceramic filter, every other month, and the charcoal every two months. It is advisable to rinse it at least once a month. The following are guidelines that I was given by the tropical fish store where I buy my fish, and where most of my tanks are kept.
Yes, you could set up mechanical filtration there, but it would be quite limited. Nothing will be able to be filtered because there won't be enough media.

My Fluval 5 gallon aquarium came with an original carbon filter that I am replacing with this one. It looks like it's doing a good job, and the tank appears to be clean and full of happy fish. In this case, you are getting a good product, and you can pretty much rest assured that you are not getting a poor replication. In the event that something were to go wrong, I'd definitely update this review, but as for now, all is well. This has been a very satisfying experience for me.
(See the picture Biomax image from store) This product does not look like the Biomax I buy from my The originals appeared as large white cylinders with a single hole in them. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing, but it makes me wonder if it's the real deal. The old ones lost some of their weight due to the cracks in the cylinders, so we have to make these new cylinders. These cylinders will go in the same tank as the originals. It was not in a fabric bag like these either, we got it from an aquarium store. Rather, they are in a black mesh sack that is more durable. I don't know. In the event that my tank does not seem to stay as clean as it did before purchasing this online, I will not be purchasing this product again.
These fit the tank filtration system perfectly, and they're affordable. I'm sure that there's better products available, but I like that these fit the tank filtration system perfectly. I have to admit that although I am not a fan of my Fluval's overall filtration system, this element does work well for me. A strong unpleasant odor is visible in the tank water if I have waited too long to replace the carbon. It usually takes me a month or two to replace this carbon because I do weekly water changes. The fish load in my aquarium is light, and I have live plants as well.
The foam that comes standard with the Fluval Flex 15 is this one. A second chamber is created by sliding it into chamber 1. During the leakage from chamber 1, water flows through the foam, passing through the 2 forms of media that are placed into the rectangular cutouts, and out the bottom of the chamber. can get another of these to use as more filtration as they also fit in the first chamber. In the first place, I will recommend this foam because it is constructed with good coarse pores and it allows water to pass through while blocking medium to large solids. The bacteria begin to grow inside and outside as more and more surface area is exposed to the elements. This block is exactly the same as the one that originally came with Fluval Flex 15. It has two slots where media can be added like Biomax or carbon. *BR>I verified that it is exactly the same as the one that came with Fluval Flex 15. It appears that these foam blocks can be used either in chamber 1 or in chamber 2 of the Fluval Flex 15, so they are installed My alternative was to install InTank media boxes instead of the foams you see. As it turned out, these original foam blocks working best with biological media installed inside, and media bags placed beneath them in the chambers, so I discarded my Intank media boxes, and I began using these original foam blocks once again. As a result, I have now stocked up on a few of these foam blocks Besides being able to be cut, these filters can also be used in other filters as well. Unless you are replacing your handle from the original foam, you will need to keep the original handle that came with it. These don't come with.
These systems are exactly the same as the Edge ones - they are just rebranded. This mesh is the same except it is rotated 90 degrees, but it still works the same way.
In the case of this product, it's brown instead of white? I also got a completely different product than I did the last time I purchased Although I'm not certain if it will harm my fish, I try not to keep it in my.
Biofilter media that comes with most filters, but are not up to the Fluval Biomax standard, is a great replacement for that. A lot of surface area and this media will last so long. It will save you money, and keep your fish healthy at the same time. The filter is a bit costly up front, but over the long run, washing it in aquarium water and putting it directly back in the filter will save you big money. Ditch your stock filters and use as much Biomax as you can as an alternative.
There is no fluval spec in my file As a model owner, I have the edge. The three pack of these filters is $2 cheaper than the three packs for the edge, regardless of its brand. They seem to be the same from what I can gather. All four are the same size and shape and all seem to be filled with the same amount of carbon media. I have used them in an aquarium with a narrow edge, and they work great.
