An air tube is located inside the sponge to allow air to enter from the top. It might be possible to make it fit an air stone as you said you could cut it out.
Aquarium size has a bearing on how much space it needs. There are currently two filters on this system running on a double outlet pump with a capacity of 60 gallons. The first one is in a breeder tank of 40 gallons and the second one in a 55-gallons tank. A perfect crystal clear water quality and flourishing fish make this a truly amazing spot. It might help if you read this.
It is necessary to have water up to the top of the uplift tube with an air pump or powerhead in order to operate this device
In my 60 gal hex, I use a 270gph power head. Designed to fit right on the lift tube, it doesn't require any modifications.

It's in a tank with an axolotl at the bottom of a 10g tank. An axol would rather lie behind the filter than in front of it.
I knew what the dimensions were, but I was still surprised by how big it was! I love how 4 1/2 inches of width seems so much bigger when I see it in person. Moreover, it seems to be quite large in the aquarium as well! In a 29 gal aquarium that had already been filtered with Fluval 70/Aquaclear 70, I bought this filter to add to the biological filtration. retrospect, the Fluval would have been more than sufficient. Somehow, I just can't seem to shake the feeling. There was nothing else I wanted. placed it in the tank when it was filled so it would submerge and not float, as it is known to do when other aquariums are filled. It is not receptive to float, which is great. I even had a fish sleep on it like a bed still need to attach an airline and a pump in order to fill the tank. Two other sizes of this sponge are in other tanks as well. Floating creatures are also not able to live in water. However, don't think that it's a small sponge filter (regardless of whether it is a smaller size or not) because it's quite large. In any container shorter than a 20 long, where I plan to put it, it will take up too much room. It's not too big or that one, but I hope I don't think it too much. It will be left in the 29 if I decide to do it. If you want to clean the airline hose, simply detach it from the valve. The tubing won't need to be removed from the suction cup that holds it in place. There are a lot of surfaces.
The box was plain and no instructions were provided for assembly and use. It is not even possible for me to be sure that the product I ordered is the one I received. The packaging does not have a manufacturer's name, a product code, or any other identification information. The impression I got was not good.
A sponge filter does not compare to anything else. There are canister filters, power filters, UV filters, 4 stage filters, Bubble filters, and I also use the Rocket filter in many of my tanks, BUT you can rag on them as much as you want about how ugly they are or about how difficult they are to clean. If you want to maintain a low PPM level and a low NH3 level for all of your tanks, sponge filters are the only way to do it. Tank maintenance will never be replaced by anything, and they have not gotten around to retooling it. The sponge filter is useful for multiple purposes in fish breeding I will complete the task for you. It has a large footprint, so I use it in 10-gallon pails by itself, and I see no reason to replace the water parameter. The fry have something to eat, and the params remain intact. With larger tanks, other filtration may be combined with the 15 gal one.
If you plan to buy a sponge filter, make sure you know how it works. My reason for buying this sponge filter was that it was the cheapest The actual product was of excellent quality, and I was pleasantly surprised. smelled a bit but I just rinsed it a couple of times and the sensitive fish didn't seem to have a problem with it. I put this in my aquarium to get my tank established and it has been very healthy since then. It doesn't come with instructions, but sponge filters are pretty simple to install, so you don't have to worry about that. The pros are Please note A cheap price*br The best quality possible - *Pros Effective Please note The sponge filter does not include instructions. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new.
So far, I am very pleased with this 60! The sky was filled with Just after it was introduced to the tank, it only unscrewed itself from the stand once. I have not encountered any problems with tubing or other parts. I would appreciate it very much. This was my first time, and I didn't expect.
Considering the low price of this sponge filter compared to many others, I will not have much complaints about it. I like the feel of it, and the plastic is cheaper, so I don't mind that (just a There is nothing better than sponge. While the bubbles are inside, you may find that it floats a bit until you squeeze them out! The sponge filter itself does have enough weight to stay down for the most part, but I do think I should have got the more expensive sponge filter. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase.
Using this for a 10 gallon quarantine tank, I use it for breeding. We have reliable air pump - Tetra whisper 10 gallon - running through several months without issue. One of the best parts is that you can get an instant cycle by squeezing a used sponge out of a filter in another tank into where ever this runs. Simply put, it's the best way to keep a simple tank healthy and happy without worrying about anything.
