It has been about three weeks since I got the two packs and soaked them in hot water. Despite being soiled, they still smelled of chemicals, and they came off with a bunch of black paint on In order to maintain the quality of the water I have been changing it Be sure to soak one of these for a lot longer than you would a 1-hour soak It was suggested to take 2 days.
There are three dimensions to the Zoo Med Floating Log 2.5" L x 2.5" W and 10" all the way around. Here is a translation I hope
Mine arrived mid-July 2015 and I'm very happy with it. Betta - A cute little furry kitten The system has been in use since then. There is no obvious peeling of paint on the log at present. It looks like it is made of plastic polymer on the inside, and I don't think it's painted. Aside from that, Sam is very fond of his log. In the tank, this may be the most commonly used item.
My first step was to rinse the piece with cold water and allow it to air dry before putting it in his tank.

I'll just say that it did not take Gimignano more than 30 minutes to find his new favorite special spot. I am so glad he won't be leaving! The bug in the rug is about as happy as he can be. I see no problem with him except for one thing, he's a fish. The logs are written in. I really like this product. In any case, I fear I'll never be able to see my fish again, except through the holes in the log (which is useful in satisfying my voyeuristic desires), but I will never forget the days when my fish was just in a glass bowl with nowhere to hide. Quite uncreepy#NotAtAllCreepy.
As soon as it was opened, it didn't smell very nice. My beta's tank is now filled with it after I rinsed it in warm water. Afterward, he went inside and I could tell that he loved it after inspecting it for five minutes. When I returned to the tank, however, I could smell the awful smell of chemical fumes coming from the part that was protruding into the air, so I had to evict him and confiscate the tank, even though he had bonded with it already. It must be very distressing for you to feel like that. The feeling of being so mean was terrible! The chemical odor has been getting stronger and stronger in a bucket of Seachem Prime treated water for the last couple of hours. Despite not having a strong reaction to smells, my spouse also recoiled when he smelled the scent. I find it hard to believe that tiny particles of this stuff floating in the air can disrupt my nostrils this badly. How bad will the water smell next and what kind of toxins does it release? Although I can't be certain, I think the main source of scent is coming from the rubbery coating inside but I really don't want to get too close for a closer sniff anyway. What a shame. It has a five-star design, but the chemical smell makes it unworthy of use and possibly unsafe as well. The poor betta may end up growing an extra eye or glowing in the dark in the future.
My tank has had this product in it for a few days now, and the product itself has been fantastic. As far as size is concerned, it's suitable. There is no problem with the hole on top. This is a sturdy product. I have a 10 gallon tank with a betta fish that I wanted to put this in. It would be ideal if Lemon could be fed without being removed from food by a stream of current if I used a couple bubble walls and a filter. In addition, the log sticks out a half inch above the surface of the water. Through the hole in the log, I can drop the food, but it is swept away. The reason for taking away a star is because of this. The problem was solved with clear plastic string, which I tied around the bottom of the log, then tied it to a stone decoration for the bottom of the tank in order to hold it in place. In addition, I used another piece of string to keep it from spinning as it was powered by My first step was to thread a string through the feeding hole and use a suction cup with a plastic clasp to fasten it. In order to hold one side of the log in place, it holds one end. As of now, no progress has been made. With no fear of being squished, he can safely swim in and around not feeling confined. This is probably not something I'd buy without some sort of safety measure in place. If there are bubbles or filters in the tank, the behaviour becomes too unpredictable.
My order came that day since it was an ad on item for Prime shipping, so I didn't have to wait long. As soon as it arrived, it came in a colorful box with pictures and a simple instruction to rinse in warm water and place in the I found it to be more complicated than I expected. The pump's current pulled it toward the current in the tank when I placed it up there without removing it. This is the last place any beta wants to be. I was able to cut a small piece of fishing line and use it to tie to the heater cord. My beta loves to look at the heater, so moving this next to the heater was nice for my fish since he did not approach the heater before I moved this next to it. Keeping his distance from it when it was fluttering around was his plan. As long as it came with some kind of anchor, I'd give it five stars, as it seems well made and is semi-natural looking and lasts quite a long time. It is necessary to make some sort of anchoring system if you are buying for a beta.
In view of the fact that it's a solid piece of art, I have no idea how or why. In my attempt to gently place it back into the tank, it sank to the bottom as before. Tell me what I am telling you There is no way this can be possible! There appears to be a problem with the paint since I noticed that a bunch of it had chipped off, and I had to suction it off. The worst part is that- There is a gap in the tail of his pet rabbit! My friend's Betta seems to be fine, and I don't know what caused the log to get caught on his fin, but I would prefer it not to be rough in the tank. Additionally, the fin was unharmed prior to the log getting caught on his fin. It's so hard for me to lose my little one. My intent was to ensure that he had a fun and safe home, and I feel so guilty for giving him such bad things. Even though I know he'll be fine, I know I'll still feel the guilt of Mama. (On top of that, it was his VERY favorite accessory, so I'm very sorry I took it rated two stars because he loved this log and it made him happy, but since the thing started sinking, flaking off paint and hurt my betta, I can't recommend this product to anyone.
I am including an update after this had been in the Betta tank for about a month. In the beginning, I gave this 5 stars, but when I cleaned the log with running water, brown pieces began to come off in the sink. As I looked inside the log, I saw that it had once been smooth, but now had slices and peels. There is no way to prevent this because the Betta's fins and body are so fragile. This disappointment comes as a huge disappointment to me because I have been very happy with this product and the room it provided for Betta over It would be worthwhile if the product could be improved upon in the future so that it is worth buying again. The one I had to discard had to be thrown away.
The first time he looked at it he wasn't keen, but now he swims through it a lot, and he sleeps in it at night. You should be wary about sharp corners (although mine wasn't sharp), not to mention that the log begins to collect some slime, though a run through water and a light scrub should do the trick. Pictures inside the two boxes shown below. The tank has a 5 gallon capacity, and it sits in it pretty well! I'm very pleased with the purchase, in general, and would definitely recommend it.
