In a 55 gallon tank, I use one of these. My snails are doing well and seem to be in good health. I give one to my 55-gallon turtle tank once a week, and he devours them like candy.
No, it varies a lot depending on the fish. We had mollys, swordtails, and guppies, and they were all fine.
Not sure! I've been using them for years (usually two at a time) and find that they fizz quite a bit when first put in. They haven't permanently clouded the water, and I only have a 10-gallon tank. Is it possible that the amount/type of filtration is different? Especially if the cloudiness was short-lived.

Following a reintroduction to the hobby, I was having a lot of minor issues with plants and inverts in a different house with a water softener. I discovered that the softener had removed all of the calcium from the water after conducting a water test. A test kit was used to confirm the results. Strips for testing In my 38 G weekly, I now toss a small Wonder Shell in. After four weeks, the plants may appear to have improved. BB algae is declining, while invertebrates are faring much better. Cherry shrimp reproduction improves as nerites become more active. My weekly maintenance routine now includes wonder shells.
They haven't, at the very least, aggravated the situation. I'm a 36-year-old woman with a 36-year-old About 200 assassin snails are housed in a gallon tank. These shells were purchased to house the four Nerite snails that were present. In the meantime, the assassin snails have captured the Nerites, so I'm not sure if the Wonder Shells are assisting the assassin snails or not. However, it appears that they aren't making matters worse. As they bubble their way to the bottom of the tank, they appear to be quite cool. Each one will last a few days.
In my aquarium, I like to use these. They keep the water clear, and I believe they contribute to the strength and health of my mystery snails' shells. My mystery snail's foot became infected after I switched the water conditioner I was using (I assume he was allergic to it?). To heal the aquarium, the Internet recommended dropping a Wonder Shell into the water. My snail improved in a matter of days. Snails are unable to take any medications. I also believe that the Wonder Shells may help to remove any excess chemicals that my water conditioner missed when I first used it to treat my water before putting it in the aquarium. They're simply a high-quality item.
I have a 5 gallon, so this small size is ideal for me. I use one every three months or so. 4 weeks. On Amazon, it's a good deal!.
This calcium supplement is a big hit with my snails! The only problem is that since I added calcium, I've had a larval snail bloom. Because my snails are freshwater nerites, I don't think they're to blame for the small larval snails that have appeared. Snails will love it! All kinds.
The Wonder Shell is an incredible creature. Yes, a cuttle bone will suffice, but I've found that using a wonder shell makes a significant difference. Our mystery snails have been procreating like craaaazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz All of our invertebrates are in much better health and are doing well. This book comes highly recommended.
