Questions & Answers

As I have a very large 92 gal aquarium with very deep water (full-size tank), the water is very deep. Do the suction cups at the top of the device allow me to attach it?

There are suction cups at the top and at the bottom the turtle liked it, but it was kind of a messy thing. The green carpet kind of flaked off at the corners, but it did seem to work.

Is it large enough to fit into a 20 gallon container?

My 55-gallon tank holds 3 gallons of water and 2 gallons of shampoo. In this case, I have connected the ramp to a basking platform so that it hangs out Fits in a 20 gallon tank, based on what I have seen - In addition to the height, consider the width as well. Here are a few examples The ramp touching the ground of my tank is about 9" wide, so it is perfect for my turtle. The turtle is too wide to get around the ramp in a 12" wide tank, which makes the portion under the ramp useless. I wouldn't think your turtle could get around the ramp to swim, but they may if they are small. You may consider making the ramp narrower.

My 7 year old Mississipi Matt weighs about 60 pounds. Will this fit her?

An African sideneck turtle that is nine years old and an Eastern painted turtle that is 12 years old live with me. There is no problem holding both of them together on one.

Can anyone give me a tip on how I can encourage my turtle to climb this? It used to be that my African side neck turtle would bask on the surface of the water, but since I raised the level, he doesn't. ?

A single ramp like this can be unsettling for a turtle because it has a lot of flexibility in it. For my full-time job, I also had to deal with this dilemma A painted turtle is grown by making some major changes. My first effort was to buy two identical ramps, remove the rubber and install the ramps A fabric backed with green grassy fibers that is dangerous when The plastic screw bolts that came with the ramps were carefully used to connect them together. Affixed plastic velcro tabs along the sides and bottom of the top ramp, and then strapped it all together with weatherproof nylon velcro. There were key edge areas I used to attach the Reptiles can bed on green fabric that is safe. The single-minded route appealed to me The tape has a velcro attachment on both sides I used a grip built for strapping plants to the ramp and carefully wrapped 4 long pieces around it with 2 straps on each edge along the top edge, one strap around the bottom edge, and one near the top bend to secure everything. Next, I took a long filter sponge and slid it into the gap formed when I connected the two ramps. With this sponge, you also help your top ramp not bounce up and down. Currently, I live with a turtle in a 75-gallon tank. A quarter of the tank is filled. In the floating ramp (which I rigged up so it would not float) which sits about 8 to 10 inches below the surface I drilled two holes carefully. A 9" gap between the top edge of the tank and the top of the In order to mount the ramp to the platform, I used the following two holes. In order to strengthen the ramp, the bottom edge sits on top of a large flat rock that is about 2" high, and a slightly taller and heavier rock covers the side. Since there are no other tall ramps available that can supply a turtle with a ramp from the bottom to the top of her tank, this is somewhat of a labor of love for me. This set is highly recommended by my turtle- I would suggest she pick it up as it suits her needs well. A strong ramp and a lot of swimming area in her tank, along with a makeshift cave under her platform where she loves to sleep are all parts of this set up. As an example of a different set - I have tried several different ups and this is by far her favorite. One other suggestion I have is to buy a relatively thin rock or plastic piece about the size of the ramp and strap the ramp to that so it feels secure and brace the ramp against the The following suggestions are offered in hope they will be helpful.

Here is a hazard
3/5

Check this out before purchasing! There has never been a time when I gave anything a 1 star rating. Nevertheless, I feel that it's very important that people be aware of what they're buying when they put their pet's safety This turtle platform by Penn Plax, since it is sold today, is a safety hazard. * (See We have tons of free stuff There are green fibers floating in the water, and small black strings unraveling in the *)

When it comes to finding a ramp that may be used as a basking platform that has some traction, there is nothing available. Because of that, I ended up buying this one even though reviews warned of turtles eating the astroturf and the green fibers coming loose and clogging Having siliconed the edges in hopes of preventing my turtle from sucking the edge, I attempted to prevent the problem. I was horrified to see that much of the astroturf had been eaten and passed by the fish. The other day, I noticed a huge green clump floating in the tank. I then contacted the company by letter, explaining what had happened, and asking if it was possible to get just the plexiglass ramp without the astroturf. It has not been responded to It was this ramp that I used when I built my basking platform. Another ramp of the same size isn't available for sale, so I tried to find another of the same size. Another 25 dollars were spent on another ramp, which will be ripped apart after the ramp I ordered is broken. I've spent $50 total on what will be a piece of 17 inch plexiglass covered with some other material. If you were going to put this into your tank as is, I would suggest using waterproof grip tape, padded kitchen shelf liners, or even an embroidery mat rather than this. My suggestion if you decide to purchase this is to Yes, it may seem like a waste of money, but it's better to prevent your turtle from getting a blockage that could be potentially fatal should they not be able to get past. In order to test how well the grip tape would hold up, I purchased textured cat tongue clear grip tape, stuck it on plexiglass, and submerged that in a bowl of water five days ago. As far as I can tell, it seems that it is still sealed and that no water has gotten under it, so I may give it At this point, I feel like I would have been better off buying one of those nice custom tanks with the ramp already built in so that I would have been more cost-efficient. In addition, less stress would result.

This is an affordable and functional product
4/5

I didn't have time to send it back because it arrived broken, but after some glue and tape, it was fine, and I didn't want to return it.
Notwithstanding that, this thing is much loved by the turtle! It was easy for him to get on a floating one, but he was too heavy for it once he was on It's not uncommon for him to bask on this roof for half his day. There is a 20 gallon "tall" tank for it. With a rock propped on the bottom, I was able to extend the distance between the water and the rock.

There is nothing better for my axolotls! My axolotls LOVE this! I am unable to comment on how well this works for turtles, but my axolotls are thrilled! Their favorite activity is swimming up and down the ramp, and they come up to the top when they get hungry to beg for their favorite nightcrawlers
5/5

I have attached some pictures of Marceline and Princess Bubble Gum for instance. The piece is well made and has suction cups so you can place it wherever you want and it will stay put. It wouldn't be too hard for me to put some custom fake grass or silicone rocks on top of the terf if it were removed. The decoration is well worth its price and it is one of the most used by my axolotls.

There are no words to describe how much I love I've seen a drastic change in the size of my turtle
5/5

There are no words to describe how much I love I am very worried about my turtle since it has gotten so big & fat The platforms I use have to be built by me. There is no obvious way for her to swim up and get out of the pool. The ramp serves as a ramp for her to jump out of the water and Now, she spends a lot more time in the sun. I don't think it's a big deal if it frays. Clean your aquarium once a week on average like I do by removing the fray OR cutting it until finally it As a result, the threads no longer fray and the stitching is visible. As it ages, it will cease to fray. It's impossible for anything to be perfect.

I love that it looks great on my red ears! Tetra ornamental rock pumps/filters have recently been introduced to my hobby, but my turtle is a little too big to bask on one
5/5

This ramp is situated right next to the rock. We can now climb to the top of it!.

The grass is bad, but everything else is good
3/5

I would not recommend purchasing this for turtles and expecting to use the grass topper. Grass plastic toppers were being eaten by my turtles! After I replaced the topper with bathmat material and removed the plastic grass, I found that the turtles had plastic grass in their poop for months. Because my filter had been clogged by the grass that they ate and pooped out, it was ruined. With the now turtle-like interface, the platform looks just like a tablet The bathmat topper is safe for holding up all three of my large babies at the same time (they love to stack themselves, even though there are plenty of other spots for them to bask). Some of the time, it sinks below the water level, but at the same time, there are always three turtles sitting on top of it.

Thanks for your kind words

In our tank we have one Red-eared slider that is starting to get large and we could not find a suitable basking platform for it. It was too difficult to place big rocks in the room, and other plastic suction platforms got knocked over by the turtles. I was able to get them to use the ramp, and they loved it. In a few minutes, the big turtle had gone on top and the little turtle had gone under. Their favorite part about this item is that they enjoy it very much. It is a great pleasure to work with you!.

Turtles aren't important to axolotls, they love them instead! Platforms such as this one work perfectly for axolotls
5/5

As a result, animals who need more walking space in aquariums can walk on it if it is a large tank. For example, frogs and other land dwellers could have their own terrarium in which this could be a useful set-up. Since I have owned them for over three years, there hasn't been any shed hair or wear. This new device works well, and the axolotls love it. As well as the crayfish, I think I may start using them too. As a result, they collect poop and old food like crazy as well, but they're easy to remove.
