I am not satisfied with the overall quality
4/5

We are no longer using 9 volt batteries. After reading many reviews, I bought this device because the customer service was excellent, the battery easy to replace, and the price was reasonable. As I searched for an extra collar with a 9v battery to attach to my second dog, I was told they had stopped manufacturing them and I would have to purchase rechargeable ones. I still have dead rechargeable batteries in a closet full of new devices with rechargeable batteries that are discontinued. While I would have preferred the 9v option, the current model was what I ended up buying. For my 3 acre property, I ordered 2000 Feet of 14 gauge wire since Sport Dog's FAQ mentioned that it could be used. In addition to renting the edger for $45, I was provided with a spool of wire to feed into my 2" mini-edger There are trenches. One day was spent burying the wire, followed by another day to finish the spots where twisted portions of the wire poked out. We should have provided more slack as we pulled, according to hindsight. It seems counterintuitive how 20 g wire would be able to hold up to the tension, but it might be due to the machine's design. The two that I incorporated (2 only) provided the gel-like appearance I was happy with how well the capsules worked. The most frustrating part of the installation was the inexpensive terminal connectors, which were a hassle to install. My dogs are very loyal to me, so I used only 14g single strand dog wire. The wire was 14 g and the terminals would not grip it! I had purchased the surge protector, which had similar wire Although I understand that space may be a concern for the surge protector, why not allow screw terminals to be used With 16-gauge stranded speaker wire which I connected to the surge protector, I was able to work around this problem. Despite this, I had to use some clothespins to keep enough tension on the springs to keep the wire in place. I must tell you, going through my mind were conclusions that this whole device is made cheaply, and the manufacturer is making a huge profit off of it. It is hard to negotiate a price that is too high for good customer service, so I can at least forgive the price. * The manuals that came with the product were very detailed, helpful, and encouraging. For documentation, I give five stars. A ground loop of 1500 feet consists of solid connections, flags every ten feet I have solid connections underground. We are going to start lessons tomorrow. The first dog is wearing one of the collars for the first time. Tomorrow we will start to learn how it works. It is an optimistic time for me. We will update this review in a few weeks so we can report on the effectiveness of the containment and the training. I am updating this information a month after it was originally posted. The dog gradually became accustomed to the collar as I took my time with him. Clip the module to a collar using a clip on. We had no problem removing the buckle - it was very easy Connect the clip to the module and strap it on We did have to trim and re-cut, but we did complete the job Take the strap and sew it. As per the instructions, I set the collar at contain + train, strength #2, on the first day I activated the system. I had to train myself for a few minutes according to the manual, and it went well. She reported that the dog failed to respond to training later that day. I decided that the collar was too loose, so on the following day I tightened it and increased the power rating Clearly, large improvements were made and the dogs were QUICK and EFFECTIVE in their learning. As we did the day before, we started at the same flag. An attached leash was being used to control the dog. Immediately after she pointed to the flag and gave a little yelp, I drew her back. 100 feet away from the first flag, we found another. The same process is followed. A similar reaction ensued. There was a greater degree of caution in her. Walking 100 feet further, we reached the end of our journey. When she got to the shock zone, she pulled the leash out of my hand and ran across the line. Because she had a longer exposure to shock, she yelled loudly and came running As I pointed at the flag, I said "thank you. ". In addition, the dog has not moved within five feet of the flags since that moment, whether the collar is on or off. Training for containment has been completed! I am amazed. Then let's move on to the remote training. Despite being rescued nine months ago, this 9-month old dog has found five homes. The two-month period has passed since the day she joined us. According to her previous owners, she was just "too much of a dog. " Her bites are not mean, but very mouthy, very much like that of a puppy. As well as the nine-month-old dog, we had also rescued a much younger dog who had been only eight weeks old a couple of weeks before. This puppy is truly adorable. Yet a little fireball who, as she grows, wants to create a world where she can play with her larger, mouthier Training a stronger dog to play gently has been a big help with the training remote. When she wants to play with toys, the older dog also mouths the people. When I use it, I almost always leave it in "V/T" mode, As soon as she hears this tone, she figures out that the containment line is shock, so I just need to "tone" her and she's in the right place. It is not uncommon for her to test our patience, and we immediately vibrate the collar once in a while. It has taken me countless hours to teach her verbal commands, and I used a remote as a supplement. Dogs do not seem to listen to even the most persuasive verbal commands as they continue to engage in puppies biting. It has been easy to prevent the older dog from injuring the younger dog with the training remote. It was a huge success with each dog, with two people holding leashes and myself toning the bigger one to remind it to be gentle as needed. Due to the flimsy construction of the terminals, I will still give my overall rating of four stars. Contained training and containment are both rated as FIVE STARS from me. I'm not a fan of how bulky the module is. It would be more comfortable if it were Additionally, I would like a variation for dogs of smaller sizes. I have not yet used the collar on my little puppy since she weighs only 7 pounds She, however, has decided to go hunting now that she's nearly four months old. My dog is kept on a leash, and I try to teach her respect for the flags that remain. It is also likely that she would learn very quickly to respect the boundary if there were a small dog training collar available. It is a very good purchase for me, and I am very happy with it. It has been very difficult to work with a very difficult dog, but the SportDog containment + train unit has helped a great deal.

It is great to have everything you need in one place

It's been several years since our old system collar broke, and we don't have a It has been decided that we would go with the SportsDog Contain and Train System, very similar to our previous petsafe system. We were able to quickly install the system as we already had buried wire fence that measured 12 ga. We connected in a few minutes and were ready to go. I thought that was the case. 10), then put it was surprised to find this out because in the other system there was never an issue. In a telephone conversation with SportsDog Customer Support, they suggested that a loop test be conducted. When I tested it, the system tested fine, which means it must have a damaged or compromised wire. I walked the property twice, and there was no evidence of The contractor who blacktopped the driveway damaged the perimeter wire. Upon replacing the wire, I found out it had been damaged by a horse. When they hit the wire, they tried to reconnect it, but did a poor job of it. There must be enough signal loss to result in a 90% signal loss (max. As of 10) everything showed up okay. BAM! I repaired the line and it worked! There are no problems at all. It was a pleasure to work with the customer service staff. Currently, it seems like the product is a good one. My only issue with the device is the size of the E collar. My dog weighs 45 lbs and I think it's a bit In the future, we may be able to profile it smaller. The collar buckle is beloved by my wife despite the fact that she feels it is much better than our previous collar buckle. It was all in all a Additionally, it is possible to use the remote in conjunction with the perimeters of the fence, which the last version of the fence could not.

This collar has excellent customer service and is tough, durable, and works well with fur that is quite thick and long! It has been said that this review is for the additional collar, but it is also a review of the entire system and the collar's function
5/5

It took me more than an hour to figure out how to increase the perimeter shock level after my dog escaped the two-acre "yard" twice. I found out that the collar had a faulty button that wasn't able to be undone from the factory and there was an issue with how it was initially set up, which customer service helped resolving. As one example of going over and beyond, she took one out of their product case to do the steps along side of me, since she had no idea why it was programming correctly. They work great in all of their modes now, no problem for two adventure-loving German Shepherds who love the water and adventures - and they have no trouble with the buckles!.

The dog that we've always wanted was a reality in almost no time at all! While we have yet to use the containment part of the system, I am here for the time being to review the training collar
5/5

There is a huge difference between the two. Our goldendoodle, Bobo, only needed to be shocked a couple of times before learning how to calm down. There is a total difference between him and before! It's amazing how much calmer he is now. He comes when we call him, drops stuff when we tell him to, and is responding to us well. There is a sense of contentment and happiness on his face. It seems like he follows us all the time now. Now that he doesn't bother neighbors' yards (and I haven't even attempted to fence them in I believe the fence would have been better off without it. I will come back to this in a few weeks after we've put the fence to work. It has been a good start!.
