The wireless signal was no longer being received by the collar. I replaced the battery and rebooted the system according to the instructions on the PetSafe website, but the collar is still not receiving the wireless signal. I've had to replace the collar a few times because of the same issue. The collar's lifespan must be extended by Petsafe. br>br>When the collar is functioning properly, the dog is kept within the wireless boundary. Unfortunately, the collar only lasts a few months before it stops working.
I sent a message to the company, and they responded almost immediately, stating that one would be sent out. I received the tracking number an hour later.
When this collar isn't even on my dog, it will begin to beep at random intervals. I only took it out of the box and set it on the counter. It also surprises me when it beeps and I'm not even close to the fence. I need a collar for my new puppy, but I can't train him with this one, which has gone off four times in less than a week while sitting on the counter!.
These are fantastic for our dogs. When I had to unscrew this receiver, a piece broke off, which was disappointing, but I called their customer service and they were AMAZING! They immediately sent a replacement, with no fuss.
It's a perfect match for our old one. Our previous system had been in place for over six years, and the new one worked perfectly the first time; we did notice that the distance was a few feet shorter in some areas, but the dog quickly adjusted.
It was either that or spend 270 on a new system. Alternatively, a new collar can be purchased for $130. The system now functions as it did before the replacement.
These collars are very effective.
Worth it. Dogs quickly grasped the concept of boundaries. They've heard the beep from the collar and are about to turn around.
