Questions & Answers

Can I use this collar even if I do not have an electrical fence?

This system has the IF-300 protocol The Stay+Play Wireless FenceĀ® (PIF005-002) or the 100 transmitter

When did you purchase this product and what warranty does it have? I bought one less than six months ago and it just stopped working. ?

In terms of customer service, the company is excellent about helping with problems or offering replacements for In fact, I purchased the complete system three years ago for my husky, and it keeps working fine, changing batteries every three If your equipment inside is plugged in on the wall, make sure it is hung midway. Do not set it on a metal surface, nor should you place anything near it. In the yard, if you use the unit up too high or on the floor, the signal or fence line won't be the correct distance from the unit. The unit has settings for up to 100 yards from the unit. In this case, setting it all the way up could allow your dog access to all the blocks, mine is set at 4 to ensure the fence stays within my property line. Also, if you have thick hair, set the shock on the unit to high to ensure the fence stays at the property line. There is more to this than just plugging it in and going. A test of the settings is required before it works.

My transmitter is the F101 and my receiver is the S402 The front of the bag has the model number 855. What is the compatibility of this collar In the event that it doesn't, what might? I appreciate you. ?

If one transmitter calls for a 3-setting collar, and the other for a 5-setting collar, I have found that the three settings are not enough. Ensure that the collar and transmitter are in sync. In that case, I did what I had to do.

Do you think this will work for a chow chow who has a thick, linting ?

A shepherd mix with a Pyrenees lives with me. Chow chow's coat is not as thick as that of chow chow, but it works for You do not want it to choke you, but it must be tight enough to touch the skin.

There is no way that they can be kept from breaking when they are with a Golden Retriever
3/5

We have two dogs who wrestle and play, but we bought three of these things and we have successfully replaced two of them, but the third is dead and, from what we have read, it does not appear to be covered The cost of making them bulletproof really makes me wish they were more reliable and better made for the price. I, therefore, would not recommend at this time due to the lack of reliability and the lack of quality.

If you move a lot, this is the place for you! Several years are involved
5/5

May 2011 was the month I purchased the PetSafe system. Despite the collar's success in 2016, it fails in 2017. The reason for the failure is unknown to me. At a cost of about $22 a year for nearly six years of use, this system isn't bad considering we have been able to take it with us wherever we have gone. As an example, here's how it works Changing batteries every 30 days is a requirement. A cost of a little more than $8 is involved Due to its two-monthly schedule, it is worth $10 every two months As a package. Since this package was the same price as others but included two batteries, we found it to be a good deal. Waterproof, our dog wears the collar every single day and we haven't seen any issues with him getting sores or calluses on his neck from it.

The solution did not There are others that I think are great as well
3/5

We got another dog, so we got a new Although maybe it was just a fluke, but it worked, but didn't continue working. There is a dog running down the street all the time that my dog chased. After adjusting it several times, I still did not get it to work. Replied with a return address.

It is good until it suddenly stops working
3/5

Our dogs love these collars and we don't want to have a fence where we live, but they stopped working after just over a year after we had two of them. The golden retriever only wears it about once a month and thinks he always has it on as he is very laid-back. We are only replacing one of the collars because he can stand it comfortably. We use it for our German Shepherd every day to see if the battery is charged, so he's the one who's in dire need of it! The app is great, except finding them so expensive to buy so often makes me take less stars off of it. Let's hope this one lasts as long as the old one.

One month after it was purchased, the collar receiver cracked
3/5

We have successfully used previous collars in the past. In any event, after about a month, this one started randomly beeping and shocking my dogs even if they weren't close to it.

I find it amazing, though! Here is a pic of my new pup and my 2-year-old
5/5

If anyone is considering using this collar and system, I hope this review will prove helpful The wireless system is AMAZING! I was hesitant about getting it, but I am so glad I did! It did not take long to train my new pup and 2 year old. Not much was expected of me However, the ease of setting up and using it is a big plus. I have had them for over a month now, and I haven't had to replace the batteries. They are easy to work and easy to maintain. It is an excellent system for anyone to use. Changing only one aspect would be how expensive the system is and how many collars you need. My total investment for the system and collars was over $400. Even so, knowing my babies are safe within their own zone is worth it to me. I'm buying one more collar right now. I hope that's all there is to it.

There is an issue with interference with this perimeter fence
4/5

It took longer than expected to set up the fence. In the event of an alarm, I would place the flags at the location where the alarm would be sounded. I then go back to the double-check There is nothing more frustrating than finding out that it has "changed" for some reason in many areas. It can sometimes reach 3 feet in height! There are things in every room of our house that interfere with the signal, so we are unable to allow the dogs to wear collars inside the house. As a result, if you're looking to use the collar on dogs to help protect them if they rush out of a door when a child is entering or leaving (or anyone else for that matter), it's pretty useless. As a fence that keeps pets from entering the neighbors' yard or the road, this is a decent option if you don't have "door darters" or if you only have a few feet to play with.
