Questions & Answers

Can you tell me the thickness and diameter?

They are made of solid metal pretty well.

Skunks and raccoons aren't drawn to your cedar fence because it's too big. What size is best?

suppose it depends on the space you have between the two things. The length of my purchase was 10". Things seem to be going well.

Approximately how long do each of the panels last?

It depends on the type of order you placed. This is how big my arm is

Could you tell me if this is a returnable item? Thanks. It was stated in one of the reviews that they are non-returnable due to being hazardous material?

They consider them to be hazardous, unfortunately. These are made from galvanized steel, so they're crazy. My review consisted of me ordering one box and receiving two I thought I ordered one and received two. I am very satisfied with them. It was just an unnecessary expense to buy the extra

I really like this
4/5

My entire review covers the pros and cons of this product. Please read it to learn more. Whenever I receive a bad news story, I believe in it first. The only reason why I am giving a less than stellar review is a result of two Firstly, enter 1. The set I ordered was the only one The other set could not be returned due to "hazardous materials. " I had been charged for 2 (which I received) and had to keep one set. Although I don't know what that means, I am out $200 due to a mix-up If you have an interest, I'd be happy to work out a deal. . . . and 2. Lol. Rather than being galvanized, the steel actually turned a bit white over time. The presence of this sign is definitive Even though it may only be surface oxidation, it is still Since the sections have only been up for a few months (no winter or excessive rain), they are still in good condition. After all this, I would like to rephrase It is a product and concept that I truly recommend. Since we have adopted my 3 year old Beagle (who used to dig out in the yard every day) most of the neighbors no longer visit her and I can leave the doggie door open all day for her without worrying. A set of bolt cutters can be used to cut the sections to suit a variety of terrain/ hills/ fence sections. How easily hammering is done in each section will be determined by the hardness of the ground. When hammering inward ensure that you start at the ends and hit evenly inward. My new babysitter is THE BEST!! She keeps my little one company during the day!.

We came to a solid conclusion
5/5

There was no way for my medium-sized, 50-pound dog to get under my fence as this product shut him down totally. The installation was done using a rubber mallet. The best method I found was to tap into the ground near the middle of each piece and work out evenly to the ends. Be mindful of any concrete that may have been buried when your fencing was built, as you may need to adjust it slightly. I filled in four to five gaps under the fence The pieces were 6" and 5" deep, meaning they were about 5" deep in the ground.

The results are not great
3/5

There may be a better option, but I am not sure what it is. Sand is as fine as you can get on my ground. Had a tough time getting these panels to lay smoothly in the ground. In the process of installing, several were bent or broken. Having said that, it appears that they are fulfilling their purpose So far, nothing has gotten under the chicken coop because the dog has been kept in the yard. Although these units aren't priced very well, I think they are probably more sophisticated than what is offered. Should the ends be pointed or the brackets reinforced at the top?.

The system can be easily installed in sandy soil
5/5

I recently found out that my Foxhound has learned how to dig under the fence to take herself on walks around the neighborhood. She has now been looking for weak spots in the fence to do the same thing. There are several spots where she can stick her nose under the wooden privacy fence, but there is also a brick wall behind it. As a coastal South Carolina property, my backyard has a lot of weak spots, so I put the 25 packs of large barriers at all weak points. The soil is very soft and sandy here, so I put them in all vulnerable areas. The majority of them could be installed with only my hands and feet, but for a couple of items that hit resistance, I had to use a mallet. Even though I'm sure that my dog would still be able to get out if she really put her mind to it, I think these will do a good job of preventing her from getting bored- Attempts to escape caused by induced stress. She can definitely roam the yard alone now, and I feel a lot more confident leaving her there.

I'm happy with how it works
5/5

During a visit from our neighborhood wild rabbits, the Westie Terrier was digging under our chain link fence to play with them. It seemed that she just found another place to dig out after placing rocks, etc. This caught my eye and I decided to give it a shot. In order for the ground to be softer, I waited till we had a day of rain The easier installation makes it worth it, in my opinion. As well as holding the 2x4 to strike with a hammer, I placed a short 2x4 on top of the fence. As long as the stakes are driven into the ground, this method works great, and the fencing is not damaged. I used flat black spray paint to cover the exposed corners of the chain link fence. As my chain link fence is black, I sprayed it on the exposed edges. Doesn't even draw attention to itself - it just blends right in. We are pleased to report that our Houdini Westie no longer digs out and everything is fine The product worked well for us, so I would not hesitate to recommend it. Her new behavior is to sit and bark at The ones who don't pay any attention to her As far as I can tell, they too understand that she cannot escape.

The install was easy, and they worked fine after that! I have a dog who is prone to escape, but these spikes have actually stopped him from escaping at all It only took a few minutes to put them in, they are barely visible, and they work great! The fence dig-out nails are a quick, effective, and affordable solution if you need to dig under the fence

It is well worth the cost
5/5

It took me a while to break down and buy this set, but finally I did. There are no gaps between the stakes, so it looks so much better than a bunch of stakes. Having such a strong system is very valuable. Dogs will be unable to dig their way out of the yard, I am confident.

It's hard to dig up roots if there are trees in the way
4/5

After installing 20 of the 25 I purchased, I can say that they are most likely to work, but if you have trees nearby (tree roots), it will be very difficult if not impossible to hammer them in. There are some spikes that are bent and I have been unable to drive them over half way. There would be a lot less work if there is black dirt in your ground or few rocks present.
