Questions & Answers

Are there any plans to include this with Pro ID mini microchips?

The answer is a resounding yes. As far as I know, the Halo scanner is actually distributed by the firm that makes the ProID It is a microcomputer chip that is attached to your buddy.

A microchip is implanted in both my cat's ears. This is a 10-point scale One 5-digit number and one 15-digit number The number. Only the 10-characters should be read by the scanner Microchip with a 10-digit number. Does this product work the way it claims to?

A microchip will appear on the scanner's screen after it has been detected for the first time. It could either be a chip or a module. In the scanner there is no option to program it to only read one microchip.

Is this able to read a chip with nine digits?

The specifications state that it should be 10 It is 15 digits long. Regardless if there is a chip or not, it needs to acknowledge the existence of a chip, even if it cannot read it. I was told that it couldn't read old AVID chips due to the fact that it is not universal, but I was pleasantly surprised to have it provide the entire number of my three pets. It has AVID chips and is 15 years old!

Is it possible to replace the batteries?

In my opinion, yes

Assisted in returning a street cat that had been out on the streets for 2 years back to its owner There are quite a few stray cats in our area and I didn't want to haul them down to the vet as they may be scared or confused when they are being caught
4/5

This one was a found cat with no chip and I found a great home for her and the second one was a cat that was on the street for over 2 years in our area. She was thought to be someone's cat but really got out when the owner moved When I dropped some treats down after weeks of building trust with the cats, I used the halo scanner and heard it beep! After being in shock, I called one of the places and it became apparent that it was their chip, and they contacted the owners, who told me he would be driving down 15 hours to pick him up. He did make the trip, and he revealed the good news. Now that I can see updates and pictures of him, Halo is a great app for use at home.

Avoid it at all costs
3/5

The only known chopped animal was read from 1 out of 10 These are all equipped with Avid chips, either a 10-digit or a 15-digit one. The product was returned because it didn't work as advertised, and I had to pay $8 in return. I will charge a restocking fee of 15% on my refund for the $75 return shipping charge. The bottom line is that I got to spend $20 on a product that doesn't work like it's Make sure you read the fine print!.

As a rescuer working with a no kill shelter, we always do what we can
3/5

What I notice about the Halo Microchip Scanner is that not every microchip is picked up by the machine. I work at a no kill rescue and we always require microchip scanners for incoming dogs. During my scanning I found 3 dogs infected with rabies There was only one microchip on the Halo Microchip Scanner out of three possible microchips. With another brand scanner, I was able to find the microchip on the other 2 dogs

You must be careful When you use this microchip scanner to scan dogs, you may or may not find the correct microchip. This lack of a microchip in the scanner could ultimately result in one dog being euthanized. Most shelters hold dogs for five days without ID and 14 days with ID. 1. an owner's dog not returned. 2. a dog not returned to its owner. If the chip does not capture the dog, it is either put down or adopted out. As a result, the dog has an extra day before it can be adopted out or put down because of the chip.

I find it to be effective
5/5

The scanner I used at the cat shelter where I volunteer has been very useful. Since I foster kittens almost exclusively, I needed one at home to provide medication to the two most recent groups of kittens. The color of the two latest groups could not be differentiated, so I needed this scanner. I have used this brand at the shelter and it works perfectly, is easy to use, and lasts forever based on my experiences using this brand. It would be very helpful if you needed a scanner from this brand.

I like how compact and useful it is
5/5

Microchipping my Boston Terriers and raising them has been a part of my life for many years. With this chip reader, you can scan the chip before it is inserted to confirm that the number matches the sticker, and after it is inserted to validate that the chip has indeed been inserted across the dog, and has not fallen out or remained inside A reader displays the microchip number only, and does not reveal whom it belongs to. To find the owner of stray animals, you must Google the chip number to figure out which company made it. After that, you must contact the company and work with them to locate them.

I was able to locate the chip very quickly
4/5

In the past, I have used this to check for chips primarily on animals whose chips are known to be working (to keep track of different animals). The device found 24 Pet Watch chips in a matter of seconds. However, I have not yet found any other chips, and probably because those animals aren't chipped (I volunteer with a rescue, and we check animals that go into shelters. Often the animals are already checked by the shelter at the time of intake, but we It seems that the screen has a minor issue. In the current version, there's a pixel that shows up all the time as a comma. It doesn't interfere with the.

Rescue volunteers will love this! Several of our volunteers use these to check stray dogs for traces of As a result, we have been able to reunite animals with their owners without findingers having to take animals to shelters
5/5

Some AVID chips have a hard time being read by these devices. To run over a pet, run the unit over it slowly once fully charged. I think the product is a great buy at this.

I really appreciate being able to show that to the families
5/5

Any home breeder would benefit from having this chip scanner. We're glad to be able to demonstrate to the families we sell pups that the microchip number is immediately visible. If your litter is extremely large and some of the puppies lose or sneak off their collars, there is no need to worry, just read their In comparison to the competition, the price is reasonable. Our team has been using it for more than a week. It works great to use rechargeable batteries. The situation is very positive. It's a product I'd buy again in a heartbeat and highly recommend to anyone.
