The nail clippers that came with this kit looked sturdy and like they'd be perfect for my larger dogs' nails, but they weren't. br>The nail clippers' spring doesn't return the handles to full opening, making it difficult to cut the dogs' nails without manually opening them all the way. br>In terms of the nail grinder, the speed settings are disappointing. Even on the fastest setting, it's a challenge. They didn't even scratch the surface when it came to filling my larger dog's nails, and they did a poor job on my smaller dog's as well. I thought I was doing something wrong at first, but after trying the file on my own nail, I realized it was just the grinder. When I used it on the same spot for more than a few seconds, there was no discernible difference on my nail. br>The sound is fine; it reminds me of an electric toothbrush's vibrating sound. You'll be fine if your dog is used to this level of noise, but if your dog is anxious in general, you may need to expose them to the sound before using it. br>In general, I bought these because they were on sale at the time, and I did read the review about the gift card for a 5 star review, but I still took a chance hoping they'd at least be decent for the price, which they weren't. My main gripe with them is that the nail file, even on the fastest setting, is terrible at filing the nail down. br>I honestly believe that filing my dogs' nails would be easier if I used one of those sandpaper-covered nail filer sticks. br>br>Finally, when reading the reviews, keep in mind the gift card that was included with this purchase; I wish I had taken it more seriously when making my purchase.

This product appealed to me because it was capable of performing its function. I've just finished using it on both of my labs. They were hesitant at first, but as with anything new, you just have to get used to it. I used the included nail clippers (which are a decent product in and of themselves) to remove the sharp edges before powering off. They performed admirably even at low speeds. With ease, I rounded off the nail. The included light is adequate, but I always use a headlamp that I purchased from a small online store called Amazon. Perhaps you've come across it before. The final verdict; Easy to hold, strong but not dangerous, not too loud to scare your dogs, and simple to operate.

  For my dog's nails, I really like this tooth. Both of my dogs are/were used to clippers. My senior girl would sit still but flee if she saw me approaching her with them, and my young boy resists more but eventually gives in to me without a fuss. br>br>As expected, my senior girl reacted similarly, and my boy is improving. I can do two nails before giving you lots of love and a treat, and then two more nails after that. But they're short and smooth, so I don't have to worry about cutting their quicks. br>br>My girl died two months ago, but it was critical to keep her nails short due to her hip dysplasia and arthritis, and I couldn't hold her still long enough to clip her black nails properly.
