years- young 70- I'm a pound Boxer Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who has had at least one dog in our pack my entire life, so I've had plenty of practice trimming canine nails. Helping neighbors with their dogs (all medium to large breeds) is also something I do on a regular basis. These Dudi branded clippers are a great value for the money and are exactly as described. After many uses on a variety of dogs, there have been no problems with the locking mechanism or rotating guard. Just keep an eye on that spring because it's still as sharp as it was when it was first removed from the packaging. For smaller breeds, this shouldn't be a problem, but when the handle is opened to accommodate larger nails, it easily falls out. Even though it snaps back into place, it's an ongoing annoyance that could have been easily solved with a seating redesign. (Manufacturer's Note: Instead of drilling to fit the outer diameter alone, leave an inner protrusion that snugly secures inside the spring on both ends to prevent it from becoming dislodged during use. ) This is a one-time spring issue with a star rating. I would buy it again and recommend it to others, especially since it was only $5. If it costs more than ten dollars, I'm expecting a flawless design with no loose parts. It was a fantastic product that was both quick and simple to use. The dogs still despise the procedure, but with this clipper, the job could be completed quickly.
It's not a deal breaker, but it's something to keep in mind if you, like me, rely on that stop to keep your pet's nail from cutting below the quick. I would never use the file that came with the clipper on a living creature. I'll probably keep it in my toolbox because it could be useful as a cheap file.
This clipper design has always been a favorite of mine. It's very simple to use, and it's probably the best style I've ever seen in my career as a veterinary technician. I'd say they're a little big, but that's just a personal preference; I've probably cut the toenails of over 300 dogs, and I use small clippers on all of them. A large dog does not require large clippers, and a medium dog does not require medium clippers. With the smaller clippers, I feel like I have more control and am less likely to remove more nail than I want. This can result in bleeding and cause a great deal of discomfort for the dog. These clippers also come with a standard guard, which I usually remove because all dogs' nails and quicks grow at different rates, so the guard doesn't really measure the length of the trim in the first place. Overall, despite the fact that it is larger than I prefer, this design is the best on the market in my opinion. This set, which I recently purchased, replaced an identical green set that I had been using for over ten years before switching to this new one. They are simple to maintain and care for, and will, in my experience, last at least 10 years if properly cared for. It's unquestionably a wise investment!.
I've tried a lot of different nail clippers and haven't been happy with any of them. I bought these a few weeks ago and I adore them; apparently, my dog does as well, because he sat perfectly still while I trimmed his nails, which he has never done before! They're sharp and make a clean cut without cutting the dog's nails and causing bleeding. He is a year old Maltese who weighs 9 pounds. I have a 12-year-old Maltapoo, and I knew I'd have a hard time cutting her nails because, like all of us, she gets grumpy as she gets older. She is significantly bigger than the male. She is about 18 lbs. in weight. She got skiddish when she saw the clippers in my hand, so I sat her on my lap. Anyway, she didn't flinch after one nail trim and sat perfectly still until I clipped all of her nails. It's difficult to see how far to cut her dark nails, so I followed the package instructions and cut a small amount the first time, then cut them again the next week; it's worked fine! It's much cheaper than paying to have their nails cut on a regular basis; they get regular grooming, but their nails grow faster than their hair. These clippers get five stars from me, and the manufacturer gets a hundred. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Clippers are fantastic! I would highly recommend these clippers because they are well worth the money.
These are fantastic! They remove the element of guesswork from the equation. The guard is a lifesaver because it allows you to get close while also allowing you to quickly release it if you get too close. It's a keeper, without a doubt. I have two Doxies, and their nails grow so quickly that I'm tired of paying to have them done twice a month. Granted, you'll need a helping hand to calm the dog, but they work and save money!.
These were fantastic on my basset hound's toenails, which were quite large and tough. This was an excellent purchase!.
His nails needed to be trimmed, but he's difficult to transport to the vet due to his bad hips, and getting him loaded in the car, among other things, is stressful for both him and me. br>br>I took a chance on your product because it would save me a lot of pain, time, and money if it worked as advertised. Thank you, thank you, thank you! br>br>Thank you, thank you, thank you! br>br>Thank you, thank you, thank you! These clippers are absolutely fantastic! br>br>As he lay down, I let the dog sniff them and went to work. He didn't even seem to move! I did all of my toenails the first time, then repeated the process two days later (because they were so long). Dog's reaction was the same: He didn't seem to move much. The reaction of the same owner was: I'm a very cheerful duck! Clippers are easy to use, have a high cutting efficiency, and are well-made. made. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with this purchase!.
