Questions & Answers
Hello, and thank you for your inquiry. To avoid tangles in long hair, Before using the grinder on a dog with long hair, push the hair away from the pet's paw. To ensure that only the nails are exposed, place a small nylon stocking or sock over the pet's paw and push the nails through a hole at the end.
Yes - Yes, I just got this today, and it's already in the top ten Amazon purchases in the last 21 years. It's a lot quieter and has a lot less vibration than the Dremels I've used on my previous four dogs. It's a more secure option - My dogs' legs have long hair, and I've had the nightmare of a Dremel getting tangled in it. My dog's nails must be clipped by three people at the vet - Each time they remove an eighth of an inch, it costs $23. After that, the nails are razor-sharp. Even with this one, my dog was terrified, but we got through it thanks to plenty of string cheese snacks. I'd been able to clip her nails on my own before, but it was nerve-wracking because she had solid black nails and was struggling. I'm hoping the grinding wheel lasts a long time; normally, I'd buy one of the other products that look similar, but after reading all of the positive reviews and responses to this question, I decided to go for it and am glad I did.
Sorry for the inconvenience, but it worked on my 109-pound dog. I'm not sure if it could support a 110-pound person.
It grinds quickly, but it's easy to keep under control. If your dog's nails are long, you might want to do it in stages, but I like it because it's simple to use and eliminates the worry of cutting the nail too short.

I've always been hesitant to trim my dogs' nails for fear of cutting them too short; however, because I have two small dogs and their nails grow quickly, I decided it was time to learn because paying to have them trimmed so frequently was too expensive; this grinder came with instructions on how to trim the nail, which gave me more confidence. The grinder performed admirably, despite the fact that it was my first time using it. I was able to use it without having to entrust my dogs to someone else. With the grinder, both of my dogs performed admirably. I gave them time to adjust to the sound first, rewarding them with treats along the way. They wiggled a little here and there, but mostly stayed still and let me trim them. The grinder is extremely quiet, which I appreciate. I've included a video, so you can hopefully hear how quiet it is. The video was taken after I had trimmed my dogs' nails, and as you can see, they were no longer afraid of it. I would strongly suggest it.
I tried other nail grinders on her and she was terrified. This one caught my eye, so I decided to give it a shot. It only took me 5 minutes to complete all four paws! She remained completely still and did not even attempt to fight me! When we were finished, she even gave us a tail wag! Thank goodness, I believe we've discovered the right tool for the job!.
Before I posted my review, I wanted to give it some time. I have three dogs, and I wanted to give it a shot on each of them. I have two small yorkie dogs and a large pit bull as well. The two smaller dogs were relatively easy to handle; their nails fit snugly in the slot, and the noise of the grinder did not frighten them. It scared them at first, but they got over it quickly. My big pit, on the other hand, was a little different. I should point out that he has never had his nails done before. His nails were a little tight at first, but after a few minutes, they were fine; the noise was a little loud for him, but the grinder did what it was supposed to do. I didn't want to spend too much time on him because it was his first time, so I decided to ease him in. The grinder, on the other hand, appears to be in good working order, and I'm hoping it will last a long time.
I left the grinder in the "on" position on the floor next to him for 20 minutes the first day I got it. He was suspicious of the strange vibration it produced and kept a wary eye on it. The next day, I did the same thing, then gently touched it to his haunches with the cap on so he could feel the vibration. He was once again undecided. I took his front paw in my hands, secured the nail between my two fingers, and touched the capped grinder to his nail while wearing the cap. I spoke softly and gently to him the entire time, and he looked at me as if I was insane. I then took off the cap and gently tapped the grinder against his nail for a fraction of a second. He flinched slightly but did not withdraw his paw. I then proceeded to grind one nail at a time, using quick, gentle strokes. Success! There is no such thing as an angry dog! I'll work on each nail one at a time until he's comfortable with the sensation. I've included a photo of the situation previously. After that, we'll get to it!.
It's very quiet on both settings, which is great for nervous dogs, and it's super quick! I have three dogs, and it would take several minutes per dog, for a total of about 30 minutes. This isn't the case. All three were completed in under ten minutes, and they were significantly shorter and more attractive than when the other grinders were used. It didn't get nearly as hot as the others did, either. I'm blown away. The packaging is attractive, and it contains all of the necessary items. The firm mailed paper manuals as well as an email copy. A lifetime warranty is included as well. I would strongly advise any dog owner to purchase this grinder!.
This is the second nail grinder I've bought for my maltipoo, who weighs in at 7 pounds. The first one we bought was way too loud, so I gave up after a few tries. THIS ONE, on the other hand, is much quieter and includes tips for acclimating pets to having their nails done. As suggested, I gave it a shot. with a handful of treats on the counter, right next to the turned-on grinder I simply picked up her paw and began rubbing it on her nails after a few minutes of feeding her treats next to the grinder. While I was filing her nails, she turned her head away a little but continued to eat her treats! HORRAY!.
month- German Shorthaired Pointer (German Shorthaired Pointer) is an old German Shorthaired Point She didn't seem bothered at all during the filing, despite the fact that she's still young and unfamiliar with/frightened of most things. It was extremely quiet when I used the slower setting with the larger filing top. I like how it's bigger and easier to hold; there's no slipping! I used to clip her nails before using this, but I quickly realized that the grinder is so effective that I'll be able to do away with that step in the future! Her nails were round and smooth, with no sharp edges. She happily ran around the yard for hours while my husband finished building the fence, then promptly passed out for a nap once inside. She's happy, I'm happy, and the product is outstanding! br> The instructions were simple to follow, and there was even a charger included.
I'm likely to go back to clippers just to save time. br>br>The seller sent me a letter offering a $10 gift card in exchange for a 5-star review. That's a bummer; paid positive reviews on Amazon detract significantly from the value of user reviews.
