My daughter still does not like the grinding type of clippers despite my having tried several different types. The clippers in these boxes cut through her nails like none of my previous clippers have. The best part is that they are easy to hold, really sturdy, and most importantly, they're super compact. You might be surprised at how sharp they are! My Danes' thick, long, dark nails are sliced through with ease by these machines! It's true she still hates to get her nails cut, but at least now I can do it quickly and her nails don't get pinched These clippers are great and I am glad I spent the money on them. Additional perks are that they can be folded down to a more compact size and that the unit includes a brush and a nail file. Although I am not sure that I will ever use them, they move into the unit so they don't get in the way. My clippers do not open fully after cutting the nail, I have to physically open them every time, there is no spring to make them open after cutting the nail and let me move on to cut the next one. Despite the fact that the knives are sharp and cut well, I am very disappointed with their design. A spring should open the knives easily. When you have a dog that moves their feet while you are trying to cut their nails, you might worry about cutting too much nail at once, so I like that there is a guard plate behind the blade to prevent that.

This is my second set of clippers and I am very pleased I normally have a hard time clipping even one paw of our dogs because they hate having their nails trimmed. We found that the clippers are sharp and support the nail in such a way that even our most difficult dog could have all his nails trimmed without a struggle.

This thing is very sharp, and it cut through the thick nails on my German Shephard in no time.
