The wheel has a 3" bore on an 8" rim
The number I have is With the lock, there is 5 inches between the gate and post.
Although I have difficulty picturing that position, I think it would be very hard for a mighty small dog to fit through if the gate is separated by the tread width of the wheel.

I will not buy from this company SIM Supply, Inc. is the supplier of this wheel. A gate on a graveled road with a gate that is opened and closed every day or twice, but not everyday, was opened on September 24, 2017. It took until November 2017 for the wheel to be installed on the gate. The wheel disconnected from the shaft at the beginning of February 2018 and can no longer spin. that SIM Supply issue a refund or replacement, but the request was denied due to the "expiration of the return period. ". This is what the seller says We do not allow returns beyond 30 days for this order. There is no mention of the fact that this was a wheel that broke almost immediately after being installed. It is estimated that fewer than 200 positions will be available. I have been using this wheel for three months after my last wheel lasted for ten years. There are no differences between the road and the gate.
I purchased this to fix the problem. Age 73, I live with my husband and two children As an old widow who is trying to take care of everything herself, when the gate began to sag and dig, I did not know what to do. As the gate wheel sank into the ground when I turned it off, I knew I had to get one that was easy to install. Neither was this the cheapest nor was it the most expensive. However, I decided to give the program a try after reading the description. After a long wait I strung a piece of four-by-four over the gat with my trusty ratchet set and placed it in my trusted gat By installing the wheel and brackets that were supplied to the gate and screwing them into place in less than two minutes, I secured the wheel to the gate. I'm so happy that my gate can be opened and closed easily now! It was the best money I have ever spent!.
A 6 month warranty was no longer valid. I am updating The date for 20 March 2020 is It has finally fallen completely off the wheel. Lowe's had a replacement wheel for $13 and was fairly close to my neighborhood.
A very nice wheel, but it is very difficult to install on a tube gate if the mesh is there. Had I known before purchasing, I would have avoided wasting my money. Installing the wheel was a challenge because I had to cut away heavy mesh in order to attach it. Additionally, maybe it stated how far out it stuck beyond the gate, but I must have missed it in the description. My best guess is that it took me around an hour to do it, but it certainly is worth the effort. It takes two hours to install it and it works as expected.
While I think it would work well for small gates, I am disappointed with the design. It was hard to get it to stay on as soon as the bolts and nuts holding it on weathered and corroded. Within a few years, the wheel itself became weather-worn and broke off the axle. The kind of usage I expect for animal products is different from indoor uses. For something indoors, it could last a long time. It is probable that the outside gates you have on gravel will need to be replaced at some point, but for the price and ease of installation, you can do it.
It was hard for me to guess that my driveway was slanted like that when I put up a gate to keep the coyotes out. It was the weight of the gate that caused the henges to move out of alignment and I didn't know what to do about it. I tried a wheel at the bottom after having been suggested to do so by my friend. Everything went well for me. As it glides along, it is easy to open and close. It's such a relief to get the results I wanted. The first thing to note is that I am 78 years old.
The rubber wheel is very sturdy, great quality, and very solid. I've used this for my 14-foot driveway gate with no problems. Buying another after I ordered one over a year ago and it has held up well, so I ordered another.
This wheel attachment was the solution to our dragging gate that we had struggled with for many years. It is amazing how things have changed! It's time to put an end to the screeching of concrete on the gate's opening. It's easier for me now that I don't have to pick up the gate to close it (which is pretty tough at my age). There is only one thing I wish I found years ago this.
