The pool gate was open within an hour of it having been installed by me, as my daughter grabbed a chair and climbed on top. I was very disappointed to find out that the opening mechanism was simply a case of lifting up the knob. Children do not have to deal with anything that complicates it. You could do it if you were a monkey. I didn't have a chance once my daughter saw me do it. There's a key for sure, but you've got to lock the door if you are not in the room. That isn't always going to stick in your mind. One mistake is all it takes for things to go wrong. In my opinion, it deserves 2 stars because it is sturdy, and it has a nice kit. The self drilling screws are excellent. All you need is for some type of safety pin to be pushed/pulled before pulling up the top knob in order for the product to receive 5 stars. A toddler must be able to exert more pressure than that required by such a baby.

We have not encountered any problems with the latches. After they are installed, I love how they can be adjusted in case the gate settles a This can be adjusted left and right and up and down without removing it from the cabinet. It is unfortunate that they cannot function in extremely cold temperatures. Two of these units are installed in my home, and they both cracked when it froze solid and became unusable It is so unfortunate since they have been working so well until winter arrived. Having to pass through my house to get in or out of my fence in the winter is incredibly frustrating for me.

This is the D&E Magnetic Series 3 latch Technologies that use D The gate I added to my fence allowed me to take my rowing boat to the lake via a direct route instead of using a path. Choosing this gate latch was a no-brainer for me, since it seemed like a solid, reliable unit that would meet all codes. It was straightforward to install. I did use an instructional video on YouTube for guidance. As long as you are within a few inches of where you want to mount the unit, then it is forgivable. When the gate closes, you can hear the magnet engaging the lock as it gets close to closing, but there is no loud gate click on I was satisfied with the performance of all of the hardware. I have been using the product for six months now without any problems.

In short, nbsp So far, I haven't seen reviews about using this with a vinyl gate, so I hope this helps others like me who want to know how well it works with vinyl. The bottom line The service works perfectly! The reason I purchased this lock is that my two-year-old son needs it because of The year is A latch in the gate does not work with the stock latch, so old had to figure it out. Then she has no chance of opening it after installing this one. The reason why I didn't install mine above the 59" mark is that there is no pool in the house, and it's still safe where it's at. There was something wrong with the stock latch I had, and it kept coming loose. So I wanted to replace it. Having waited so long to buy it makes me glad I did I think this is a great buy!.

As soon as the gate was shut, it had to lock, and I needed something that would prevent "pinkie" from getting into it. A round fence post / gate kit that I purchased was installed along with the kit. Getting started is a little challenging so a little thinking and measuring is necessary before you can start the installation. My gate is now " pinkie proof ", and once closed, once locked, so I don't have to worry about people trying to open it. There are still pricey parts of this book, but they were in Pinkie . This is going to be a lifesaver (literally).

Despite my not yet 2-year-old son being able to open a gate in the backyard between my house and garage, I sometimes need to lock it. I was very scared! Other than a key or padlock, he couldn't find a solution that wouldn't be figured out at a local hardware store. Using this lock has been a pleasure because it is quick, easy, and secure every time. It was easy to install and everything aligned properly, so I never had to worry about the gate not latching I am using the top open feature to prevent my child from outsmarting the latch since it will be several years before he is tall enough to do so. Having this gives me peace of mind that he won't run out of the yard if he spots me turning away.

My home is situated on a large body of water with a 4ft iron fence keeping out animals. In order to keep our children and their guests from getting into the water, a fence was installed around the pool. As soon as the fence was complete, I installed the Magnalatch, and I am now able to sleep at night knowing my kids are as safe as they can be! The install was very easy, but I think the adjustment is almost maxed out and some plastic flex is visible. There won't be a problem with the quality of it, as it is of high I have been in the system for more than 2 weeks now, and haven't needed any adjustments.

The latches need to be around the pool if there is one. I am done with this discussion. As they are solid and incredibly well made, you don't have to worry that they will break or come They latch every time the gate closes, and that's the most important part. When you are trying to open the gate, and the latch keeps sticking, it can be quite irritating when you are pressed for time. However, that is what they are designed for. I am at ease knowing that the toddlers are not able to walk over and open the gate.
