The ramp's top section measures 12 inches in length. The flat portion is 6 inches in length. They also sell a large ramp that is 1/2 wide. In my 20 gallon tank, I have two baby turtles and a large ramp. The ramps serve their purpose admirably. In my 29 gallon tank, I have a medium ramp. It's just below the water's surface for me. This allows my turtle to rest while also allowing him to get some fresh air by raising his head above the water. He has a sunbathing area that is located above the tank.
Yes, it will be able to fit in the tank. Your turtle will also be able to fit in.
For the past three years, I've been using this unobtrusive, stylish ramp. I liked how simple it was, but it became too flimsy for two red-haired children. This ramp (then a larger one) was used by necked sliders (perhaps 6 years old) - Eventually, in our 12x20x10 tank, crosswise - With a larger platform across one end, it's propped up along the more horizontal edge. Because the turtles are huge and very active, I finally had someone on Etsy make a wire tank top platform and a wire ramp going down into the water from its center.
It would fit, but there would be no room for plants or other decorations because of the ramp, filter, and heater. It takes up the majority of the space in a 10 gallon in a 10 gallon in a 10 gallon in a 10 gallon in a 10 gallon in a% I recently upgraded from a 10-gallon to a 20-gallon tank, and it now looks much better.

This should be purchased at the start! Save yourself time and money by doing so right away!! I adore this thing, and believe me when I say that I've bought almost every ramp on the market, and they've all failed miserably! That is, until I bought this! My turtle was having such a hard time getting on the others that he wasn't getting enough light to grow properly. On this, I'm with you. He's practically sprinting up this ramp! He appears to enjoy his bottom-up reflection as well. Before I bought it, I read some reviews that said the suction was bad, but mine has never let me down! Because of the constant heat being focused on that one spot, the black traction sticker started to come unglued a little, but it was a simple fix to put a tiny dab of super glue on it to permanently adhere it back. That is not, however, a reason to avoid purchasing this item. It's a matter of life and death for "Gilbert" if he can get his UVB Rays to work properly. This is the ONLY product that has worked for me! If I ever need to replace it, I will definitely buy the exact same thing!.
It's great that the platform is so big. He occasionally parks on the ramp, so all of his basking options are very appealing to him. It's also extremely stable once it's been installed. br>Update after 5 months- Because of the salts in the water, the suction cups wear out quickly; after about 90 days, you'll need new cups, and I'm not sure where to find cups with tracks on the back that will slide into place and fit the ramp holes. I have better-made suction cups for fake plants in the aquarium.
I had given her a rock to use as a basking platform, but she struggled to get on it, and as a result, the aquarium cracked. I paid $$$ to have the aquarium base repaired and instead ordered this for her. When I first got my turtle, I should have bought one of these! It's simple, holds her weight, and allows her to bask above the water while resting just below the surface. She can climb it quickly and spends roughly 80% of her time bathing or napping in the water on it. This is something you should get for your turtle! br>br>I would have purchased the larger one for her, but the seller refused to ship to an APO address. For my Chinese Golden Thread Turtle (which looks a lot like the RES), this size will last at least another year.
When she, it bends slightly. This is what I got for my turtle, and it does a good job of supporting her weight. When she gets to the end, it bends a little, but she's a chubby girl. Climbing on it and basking in the light from her heat lamp is something she enjoys doing. It's very easy to clean, and my previous one lasted about two years. The only reason I had to replace the previous one was because the suction cups had stopped sticking, which is understandable after two years.
This is something that my turtle will not climb onto. That surprised me, so I covered it with a cork slat, as he's used to it. As a result, he now uses it, and it stays in place thanks to the suctions. It fulfills my turtle's needs, and I don't have to construct something for him to climb on, which I then have to clean up after. So I'm giving it four stars, but it truly deserves five if your turtle climbs on it. br>br>A year later, I'm back to say that the suction cups appear to weaken over time, and I can't keep the platform where I put it- Despite my efforts to clean the glass and the suctions themselves, it continues to slide down into the water. To keep it in place, I'm going to have to prop it up with a tall rock.
Following reviews, I decided to go with the medium size. I have two small red ear sliders (approximately three and three months old). 5 inches tall). They seem at ease coming up the ramp to the main platform, but I've never seen them venture out onto the higher part, which appears to be too flimsy for them to do anyway because it angles down towards the water even when there are no turtles. Even so, it's large enough to hold both of them while still fitting a 10 gallon tank in such a way that they can jump off the side into the water. I ordered two of these by mistake, but I'll save one for when I upgrade their tank. I'm hoping it will still fit them as they grow older, as long as they each have their own space.
This was purchased for a purpose other than that for which it was purchased. I have a 120g tank, and I built a turtle house above it with all of the necessary lights and equipment. So, with this item, I broke off the ramp and fully submerged the "turtle ramp" to use as a place for them to rest in shallow water, and they absolutely love it. They use it occasionally during the day, but since I put it in their tank, they've been sleeping on it every night. Because I have three turtles who like to use this, I'll be purchasing another one so that I can have two side by side. These have excellent suction cups. Since I put this in the tank, they haven't fallen once.
It's the perfect length for them (about 4 inches). I'll have to get the large size once they grow another inch or two, because I really like this ramp.
