Carlson 24-Inch Extension for Maxi Pet Gate

This is a rip off the extension that came with the gate you just hook it on that's what I thought this should be nope, it screws on, no hardware came with it and there's nowhere on the gate to screw it onto I'm not happy I tried to rig it up with no luck so this was a waste of money so now I have to order a hole New gate and waste my money on this because you can't contact the seller.

This was the only thing I could find that would fit the opening, which is quite large (86"). Because it's flimsy, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with larger, more active dogs unless they have smaller doglets. Assembly was also interesting because it revealed just how out of square a space can be when trying to match up one end with another, and cutting and piecing together all of the gate parts/extensions was challenging to say the least. Regrettably, the start was not! Yes, it was an interesting project, but would I buy it again? Yes, I'd be forced to due to the sheer size of the situation. And, given the heat and humidity in south Florida, I don't think it'll be long before I'm doing just that. It's starting to rust already!!.

It's an extension, and as other reviews have stated, it's not very sturdy, but I had to use THREE of these to span a 90' opening. I knew it was going to be flimsy after a longer run without support. There's nothing to be concerned about. It should come as no surprise that nothing short of constructing a wall will be stable at that length without support. The main gate, on the other hand, came with screws for the one included extension, but the rest of them did not. I was irritated by the fact that I had to go out and purchase my own screws. They aren't the same as the ones that come with the main section of the gate, so I have protruding screws that are a tripping hazard.

I bought the extra wide gate at a store and later discovered that it required this extension to fit. The original gate, as reported by several other reviewers, arrived without the screws it was supposed to have, whereas the extension arrived exactly as ordered, with plenty of screws. The gate was simple to put together (it took me less than 20 minutes) and functions well. It's stayed fairly steady at 72" so far. I'm not sure how well it would hold up against a large dog determined to bring it down, but it has held up well for dogs/kids/etc. who aren't actively trying to get out. Good buy.

Perfect!! This gate has been in my possession for more than a decade. I moved the gate to a larger opening in our house that needed to be closed off, and it was about 8 inches too short; this extra piece solved the problem perfectly.

I had previously purchased and enjoyed other metal pet gates. I needed to include an extension in this case. I would not recommend this extension gate because it is poorly made, the ends do not stay attached to the wall, and it is difficult to adjust.

The Maxi Pet Gate can now be used on our front porch, thanks to this extension. It perfectly complements the gate, allowing us to relax on our new front porch with the dogs without having to worry about them bolting out onto the sidewalk whenever someone walks by.

I would have given it five stars if it weren't for the fact that it was a bit flimsy. Dogs jumped on the gate to greet me, knocking out one of the bolts in the process.
