PRECISION PET Great Crate Double Door Dog Crate

The kennel does its job, but the horizontal wires beneath the door are a paw breaker; my sheltie got her feet caught in it for the first time two years ago, and now the goldendoodle gets his feet caught in it as well. Fix your cage before something bad happens to a dog with any type of hard material and zip ties. What a load of nonsense.

This crate's quality has exceeded my expectations - It's simple to put together, very sturdy, and the tray at the bottom is heavy, so I expect it to last. My Yorkie, who was a big fan of it, would go inside and lay down on her own. However, she caught her back paw between the bars of the lower door threshold when entering the crate within the first 24 hours and shrieked (there's no other word!) in agony. She didn't appear to break anything, but she couldn't put any weight on her paw for several minutes and then limped for another 15 minutes. I devised a solution by draping plastic over the door's threshold, and we intend to keep the crate if this solves the problem because the quality is otherwise excellent. Please be aware of the issue and think about how you can protect your pet's feet ahead of time.

Our golden retriever puppy has a special door. This crate had a 5-star rating, which meant it was secure and had no gaps at the doors. a system of point locking This has a lot of potential. By lifting the door slightly and sliding the closure into place, it closes quickly and securely. It's a sturdy, heavier crate that I'm confident will last as our puppy matures. br>br>This one has a divider that keeps her space small while growing with her. The divider goes in okay — it's not the easiest to put in, but it eventually does. We haven't used the side door yet because we're still using the divider, but I like the flexibility it provides in the future. It is a hit with the puppy! She rushes in and lays down for the night or whenever she feels tired. br>br>This crate is heavy, and moving it around the house is difficult. Although it folds up easily, the large crate is heavy, making it difficult to transport upstairs. However, it is possible to accomplish. . . . and it wasn't the most important factor in deciding on a long-term relationship. Our dog is in need of a long-term crate. br>br>Since you'll be using a crate for a long time, possibly for the rest of your dog's life, it's worth investing in one that's sturdy and well-made, and this one certainly does. I give it five stars!.

The fact that the second door is on top of the cage rather than on the side, as it should be, disappointed me greatly. I couldn't tell by looking at the photo or reading the description. If I had known it would be on the top, I would not have bought it. I'm a dog trainer, and I know that picking up small dogs to put them in a crate rather than teaching them to go in on their own is what causes many small dogs to be fearful of humans, or worse, to bite people who grab them.

The overlap of the door to its opening is one of my favorite features of precision crates. Also, the latch side of the doors has locking tabs that require you to lift the door before opening it. Aside from the latches, there's a lot going on. The crate in the photo has the old style tabs, whereas the one I received has a new, lighter structure in the tabs. We crate train in a gradual and positive manner so that the dog does not feel trapped and has a strong desire to "dig" out. However, every now and then, we foster an "escape artist. " We've had good luck with the old style tabbed doors, which have little to no give and can be pushed open by a curious dog. I saw someone who was not used to having to push up on the door try to open it by simply pulling it open, and he came close. Only time will tell whether or not a dog can figure out how to open these. I believe that those evaluating the toughness of these crates in the face of a dog frantically attempting to escape should consider welded steel or aluminum hunting dog style boxes rather than these wire crates. If your dog is large enough to fit in a 36" or larger crate, he or she will be able to break the bars and bend the light steel. Unless the dog has been properly crate trained and is at ease in his crate.

This crate has exceeded my expectations. Because I have a 9-month-old Pit Bull mix puppy, I wanted the heavy gauge metal, and it did not disappoint. Of course, the larger crate is less stable than the smaller crate she has already outgrown, but she isn't an escape artist, so I'm not concerned. As you can see from the photos, I had to order a new mattress to fit it because the one I had for her smaller crate no longer fit. Please accept my apologies for the low light levels in the photos. I took them early in the morning, and I like the double doors, though the side door felt less secure than the front door, so I had to clip it shut.

The price of this dog crate is well worth it. It's made of sturdy materials, is simple to assemble and disassemble, and has two doors. The doors themselves are smooth to open and close and can withstand the weight of my toddler swinging on them. The only thing I would warn about is the roughness of the back of the closing latch, where the wires come together. When I reached in to give my puppy a treat, I scratched my hand. So, if you have a rambunctious dog who enjoys playing Sherlock Holmes with his nose, this crate may not be for you. The divider works well, and I bought this crate for my puppy to grow into as he gets older. Opening and closing the doors is noisy, as it is with all wire crates, but that is to be expected. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase. In fact, I've already purchased two!.

We just got a new German Shepherd puppy, and deciding which crate to get was a big topic of discussion in our house. I finally chose this one and ordered the largest size, which we divided using the included divider to make it smaller for him. It's perfect; it's very sturdy, and he went right in after the first few days with no crying. It appears to be something he really enjoys. I'm glad I went with the larger size because it means I won't have to purchase another one in the future. These fur babies are, as you may know, just as costly as human babies! At least, that's how it appears at the moment.
