Our French bulldog, however, only slept in it for one night before ripping it apart right at the seams! We purchased it in order to be able to take our dog camping with us. If we had to leave for a while, we'd need a place for her to stay. She slept in it one night and met us at the camper door the next day, despite the fact that we had zipped her in before leaving. We didn't stay away for very long! The cage was still zipped up, but she'd escaped through the seam on her own. It's a real pain!.
Overall, I believe this is the best portable kennel I've come across. I've spent days looking on and off Amazon. I bought one, and I love how you can simply press a button to open and close the bars. Unless you're cleaning the lining, you'll never have to assemble or disassemble the crate. I like how dark the mesh screens are and how they can be accessed from the front, side, and top. br>br>I had to return this size because I mistook the 26" for height (although the listing was a little misleading). My dog is a cattle dog mix, and while he is small to medium in size, he stands tall and has long legs. I exchanged this size for a 32" because it was a little too small for me. We'll see if it gets any better while it's still being shipped. This brand isn't very inclusive when it comes to sizes. I purchased the smallest size and debated whether the 32" or 38" would be sufficient for her to stand, sit, and turn around after receiving it. I would not recommend this product for giant breed dogs, and please double-check your dog's measurements before ordering! I also recommend measuring a wire kennel of the appropriate size to ensure that the dimensions are correct. br>br>Aside from having to exchange it, I really like how sturdy this crate is and how easy it is to break down and assemble. I was able to get the crate ready in under a minute. I'm also a smaller woman (approximately 5'1" and 110 pounds wet), and this was light and easy to carry to the car with my dog and all of her travel gear in one hand. br>br>When I get the larger kennel, I'll post an update.
Amazon Basics gave me a portable crate, which I returned. It was a good deal, but this one is well worth the additional $20. It's simple to open and close, and it's small enough to take with you. It's not too heavy, and it's of excellent quality. I also like how the side panels can be rolled up.
This was my favorite because it was less obnoxious and had a more refined appearance. The dog seemed to enjoy the fact that it felt a little more cave-like, but it only took a few days for her to snag a tooth on the mesh and rip the side out completely, allowing her to flee. It's now on its way to the dump.
When it's time to pack it up, it's easy to do so. It's incredibly simple to put together. For my puppy, it's a perfect size. She weighs 62 pounds and is 5'2" tall. I wouldn't use it for my Danes, but it's a good size for Great Pyrenees, Golden Retrievers, and other breeds. I like that she feels secure in her kennel away from home and is willing to enter it.
Because of its portability, this is an excellent crate. It also works well as a first sleep bed for our puppy in our bedroom. I cut it in half to make it the right size for him right now, knowing that he'll outgrow it. br>br>I like the open top because it makes it easier for me to pick him up for nighttime potty breaks. br>br>Some owners have reported their dogs chewing through the mesh sides. While that is a cause for concern, he has only made a few attempts at it. When he does, he comes close to my bed so that I can distract him and help him relax. br>br>We'll use it more as we travel, and even if he outgrows it, it can still be used as a retreat for him with the sides up. br>br>At first, don't expect your puppy or dog to like any crate; patience and training are required. It's a well-made crate, and I expect it to last for a long time.
This is for my small dog, and I ordered it. He weighs around 12 pounds and prefers solitude. He normally sits behind the couch in his favorite spot. I'd like to start taking him on vacations with me, and I'm going to give this a shot because you can open it up or keep it closed, depending on how he feels. I haven't yet managed to include him. However, it's ideal for my scheme. I ordered a medium size, which is a little large. However, I appreciate the fact that I can store his bed and toys in it. It has a cute appearance in the house and is easy to clean.
I placed an incorrect order. However, this was quickly addressed. This is a very nice piece. Crate that is handcrafted, light, and foldable. Fits in the back of my small station wagon with luggage room to spare. On car rides, my 36-pound Aussie/Scottie is secure and relaxed.
