As far as my cat is concerned, it did.
As a result of the padding, it is heavier than a plastic cone. It isn't so heavy that it feels uncomfortable to me. I give my cat a little pillow to snuggle into while he naps and it makes him feel more comfortable.

In order to provide my kitty with a more comfortable cone than the one she gets from the vet, I purchased this product. Her favorite part of it is that it stops her from licking herself, so I'm happy to have it. She hates it as much as the plastic cone, but it's cute and keeps her from licking herself. The first thing I do when I put it on her is get furious, quietly planning my final demise. Then, after about 20 minutes, she settles back to go about her business, eventually finding a way out. Thanks to velco fasteners, it is easy to put it back on, so we begin the cycle again.
I think that the medium size is perfect for my medium sized cat. A cute sunflower is all she looks like in the photo. It doesn't seem to work for her because cats don't like cones, so she doesn't really behave like herself and is likelier to be sluggish, but that's because it's made out of soft material, which she can sleep more comfortably in. My purchase of this cone was such a good decision! The first thing I notice about him is how cute he looks!
