My cat developed a massive abscess on his buttocks, which burst, exposing his anal glands and leaving a huge hole right next to his anus. It was a terrifying experience. So I rushed him to the vet to have it sutured. When I went to pick him up, they had put up a hideous plastic cone. He jumped out of the carrier and went completely berserk as soon as I got home and dropped it on the floor. To begin with, the item was excessively long. The cone's edge extended past his snout, making it impossible for him to eat or drink, and he was having none of it. He kept trying hopelessly to get out of it, slamming into everything he came across. I was able to pull it off right away. That cone was supposed to be worn for 14 days, according to the vet? 14 seconds were not enough for him. My cat is allergic to wearing a collar. So I had to keep an eye on him for 48 hours straight without getting any sleep before this gem arrived. He isn't fond of it. br>br> Is he, however, capable of consuming food? Is he legally allowed to consume alcohol? Is it possible for him to go to the bathroom? Is he able to relieve himself? Is he able to relax and unwind in peace? Is he able to get enough rest? Is he free to move around? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes Now that we have this, I believe my (not-so-little) boy will be fine. Now that he can't lick his suture site and keep it raw and pussing, it's scabbing up nicely. The designer(s) deserve a pat on the back. It's obvious that people who love cats put a lot of thought into it. It's a very gentle and humane creature. If your cat requires stitches, this is the best you can hope for.

He struggles to wear regular cat cones because they are too heavy for him. As a result, I had to go out and get him a lighter cat cone. Fortunately, this one performs admirably. He quickly became accustomed to it, and he now eats and moves normally. Actually, I believe the yellow one looks better on him now. Maybe I should also get the other one. For all of us, it's a lot better! My cat has a bad cut above the knee on her back leg as a result of a dog attack. She had already been traumatized by the attack and the vet visit for stitches, so the plastic cone was a nightmare for her. It was her first time wearing a cone, and she was out in under 15 minutes. I was worried that she would aggravate the injury by using the injured leg for some of the fight with the cone. She had time to pull out some of the stitches because capturing her to put it back on was so difficult (way back under heavy furniture). br>This collar had a significant impact on my life. It's more comfortable, allows her to eat and drink while wearing it, and keeps her from reaching the stitches (at least for now). The only problem is that the toggle isn't secure enough, so she was able to escape eventually, but tying or pinning the strings helps. We were also able to pull it tighter than the plastic cone, which was beneficial.

For cat neutering, use a collar. I ordered the medium pink flower in advance of my kitty's neutering at 10 months old. For the sake of comparison, he weighs in at nearly 12 pounds. The collar is adjustable, but it's also elastic, so you can tighten it without choking your pet. So far, it's been effective in preventing him from licking the incision sites of his neuter. I was worried it would be too small, but it fits perfectly, and he can only lick his tail (as seen in the photo). This would be plenty for a female cat, but if your cat is particularly tall, it may not be. He has slept soundly in it, much more so than if he had been wearing a plastic cone. He's taken it off before, but I just put it back on and tightened it, and he doesn't bother with the flower because it doesn't obstruct his vision. This is something I would absolutely recommend for cat neuters and spays.

Great comfort, simple to use, and my cat didn't try to kill me every time I removed and replaced it. My cat was diagnosed with a leg abscess and had to wear a cone for two months. (This is a long story. ) We ordered her this collar and a fancy cone collar as backups after a week of the hard plastic cone rubbing her neck and causing sore spots, and her hating having limited vision. She did a fantastic job on this one. She was able to eat and sleep normally as long as I kept her water and food bowls separated to prevent her from knocking them over. We also did wet food, so be aware that the collar will get messy and will need to be wiped after each wet food and washed on gentle cycle/dry low gentle. CONS: I made sure there was 1-inch of rope string because the plastic'stopper' slides right off and is impossible to get back on with the rope string. I double knotted it and then put a bow on it to keep the string out of the cat's face, which took 2 finger widths of room.
