Questions & Answers

The old model of the FURminator vs. the newer model of the FURminator a fresh design So, what exactly is the distinction?

The new generation tool has a curved edge for comfort, skin guards to prevent digging in at the edges, a furejector to remove hair from the tool, and an edge guard that locks in place to protect the edge when the tool is stored. FURminator can be reached at PetSupport@spectrumbrands for additional information. com.

Why are the dimensions for both the large and small tools identical (on this site)?

I love how, despite the fact that this question is two years old, the product dimensions on both the large and small units are still identical.

Is it suitable for a Maine Coon to use this brush?

Yes, this is an excellent brush for removing the sheath from your Maine Coon. We recommend getting the size that corresponds to a medium/large cat with long hair. Please contact us at PetSupport@spectrumbrands if you have any additional FURminator questions. com.

Is it a marketing ruse if there is no difference between long and short hair tools?

Both the long and short hair tools are in my possession. The short hair tool is smaller in size and has smaller metal teeth to avoid causing irritation to your pet's skin while still grasping their fine, short hair. To reach the undercoat of their long hair, the long hair tool is larger in size and has larger metal teeth.

I'm not happy with what I've gotten so far
3/5

It was a used furminator that I was given. I'm very disappointed and disgusted. This is extremely concerning. To say nothing of the fact that it was unprofessional.

Brush is fantastic
5/5

I was under the impression that the furminator was nothing more than a marketing gimmick. I'd been using other brushes for years and couldn't see the point in spending $30 on something that could be had for $4 at any big box store. Unfortunately, my cats are getting older, and their grooming isn't as meticulous as it once was. Even though I think I brush them, I still find little cat hair tumbleweeds on the floor or my cats have the occasional fur ball. I decided to give the furminator a shot to see if it could be of assistance. br>br>All I have to say is that it is well worth the hype. Last weekend, I brushed my cats until they signaled that I could stop. Last night, I spent about 20 minutes brushing one of my cats, removing a mound of fur that could be used to make another cat. She made no "stop" signs, such as pawing at the brush or walking away, to indicate that she was uncomfortable. This morning, I continued to brush her, and she shed even more fur. I realize it's probably due to the fact that it's summer, but I'm going to try brushing them for 15 minutes a day for the next few weeks to see if that helps reduce the amount of hair floating around. br>br>The brush itself is very effective at removing hair, and the handle is very comfortable. Overall, this purchase has exceeded my expectations.

Love! It's great, but it took some getting used to
5/5

This is a fantastic device. It's possible to have too much or too little fur. I find that holding it at a 45-degree angle and using short strokes works best for me. My cat doesn't seem to mind if I have a little too much fur, but you can feel it "bite" the fur. I can barely see any fur if I hold it at a 90-degree angle. It took some time, patience, and a few tries for my cat to stop trying to play with it and bite it, but I just let him because this thing is indestructible! I palmed the head of it so that the handle was hidden and stroked it in a petting motion to get him used to me brushing him with it. He quickly became accustomed to it as a result of this. If you have enough fur on the lever to dislodge it, it works great; otherwise, I had to pick the fur off, but that was part of my learning curve.

This gadget is incredible! Along with the'small' Furminator, I ordered some 'grooming gloves
5/5

' What a waste of time! My cat was completely uninterested in the gloves. She was gone as soon as I put my hands on her! I was irritated, to say the least, at having spent $20 on a pair of useless gloves. br>br>I assumed that because my cat didn't like the gloves, she wouldn't tolerate a brush like the Furminator. Wrong! It was a hit with her! I stroked her repeatedly, and she relished every moment of it. She'd get tired of being brushed after a while and squirm away, but only after a big hairball was combed up. br>br>This comes from a domestic shorthair cat! Her shedding was never a problem before, but it is now. She also enjoys the sensation of the Furminator brushing against her. She despises grooming gloves and even purple silicone brushes, but she enjoys being brushed by the Furminator. I'm sorry because I'm ripping off a lot of her downy underwear. She likes it, and it doesn't get stuck in my beard or my sheets! br>This comb is a lifesaver; It has significantly improved my experience of sharing my home with my cat. I can't praise it highly enough!.

Two of the same tool were delivered to me
3/5

I placed an order for two "small cat, new model deshedder" tools, one for short hair and the other for long hair. Both tools are small cat, short hair tools, despite the fact that the boxes were correctly labeled. They appear to be identical, and I measured both combs and came up with the same results. I've included pictures to demonstrate how similar they are; however, it's difficult to see the comb itself. I'm returning one of them because I don't need two of the same deshedder, and I'm awaiting more information before deciding whether or not to keep the other. I really wish there was some information about the length of the comb. br>br>I'm also checking to see if this is a legitimate program. This tool is supposed to be a teal color on the official FURminator page if it is the current model being sold, but it is being sold in a green tone in stores like Petsmart and Petco, where I first went to buy it. I used to have a light purple small cat deshedder from FURminator, but it didn't have the new logo or the new plastic skin guards, so I want to make sure this is the real deal before I use it on my cat. Other people have said they got used and knock-off products, so I'm going to be extra cautious.

It's impressive, and it's well worth your money
5/5

My heavy shedder benefited from your assistance. I was apprehensive about spending more than $20 on a shedding brush for my cat. I'm at a loss for what to do about his excessive shedding. I don't want him stuffed with fur in surgery. As a result, I chose the Furminator as my target. To my surprise, I believe I have removed a good 75% of his thick under coat after daily brushing for about a week. I brush about 5 times a day. Each session lasts 10 minutes, and each session yields about a handful of hair. His coat looks a lot better now! It may have even given him a spring in his step! Unfortunately, I can't keep him in the bathroom or outside while I brush his teeth, so my living room carpet is paying the price: it's strewn all over the place. But now that the undercoat shedding is under control, we're both very satisfied customers! Around the neck, chin, and tail, it's a little more difficult. I grabbed his tail and nipped him in the bud. He made it clear to me that this was not acceptable. I take care not to yank any whiskers around the cheeks. I believe it is well worth the money if you are having trouble keeping your pets' shedding under control. I wish I'd known about this earlier. (My kitty is an orange chubby kitty with a thick white undercoat and short hair. ).

For my cat, this is the best tool
5/5

When it comes to brushing our cat, he is a pain in the neck. Well, brushing his fur and getting the undercoat is more of a pain. I've tried a variety of products that claimed to do the same thing as this brush. Maybe a smidgeon of fur, but not nearly as much as this after 20 minutes of brushing. He enjoys the fact that there is no pulling. The push button on the back makes it simple to remove the hair. I like how the safety cover keeps it clean. I've already told a dozen of my friends about it.
