I bought this house for my son's elderly cat, Velcro, who likes to go outside now and then. br>It was set up inside so the cat could make it his own with his scent before placing it outside by the door. The house was equipped with a pet heating pad. br>Velcro is rarely seen outside the house these days. br>It's comfortable, warm, and inviting. Velcro is better protected from the kitten's playfulness, which is 10 months old and has only recently been adopted. br>It was very simple to put together, according to my son. br>My observation is that while it is a great inside pet house, there are too many gaps between the velcro secured walls, roof, and floor to provide adequate weather protection if placed outside. I fiddled around with it to see if any adjustments would help. However, I've decided that it could only be used as a temporary outside shelter - This isn't going to be a long-term solution.

Although it claims to be heavy duty velcro, it is not. To keep everything together, I had to sew the velcro together. It came apart when my 5 pound kitten was inside, and the velcro is a disappointment. It now stays put when she gets inside after a lot of sowing. I'm not sure how well it weatherproofs. It hasn't been taken outside, which is why I bought it in the first place: for the outdoor cat. I was given a heavy-duty bag. rather than a duty cooler Make a hole in it and cut a door. It is not blown away by the wind. It does not become cold. dry.

Because the outdoor shelter I would normally purchase was sold out everywhere, I went with this less expensive option. This one is smaller, flimsier, and doesn't appear to be weatherproof, which I should have read before purchasing. It only has one door, rendering it useless for feral cats who require a back door in case of predator attack. There is no rain protection in the form of a flap or a roof overhang. It might work if you have a small, tame cat, but only then. If I hadn't thrown away the packaging, I would have returned it.

Yes, it's water resistant, but it's not particularly large. However, the cat has a nice cozy pad. It took me a while to put it all together because I'm a perfectionist, but it's functional. However, this is not something I would recommend to anyone. This thing would be blown across town by a strong breeze. Build your own cat house, to be honest. It's a cinch to assemble. It's light and airy. We're going to put it on our large porch so Magic has a place to go when it's cold and stormy outside. I believe we will need to secure it in some way so that the house does not fly away. You can bet it won't get away if she's in it! She did make an attempt to leap over it. I'm afraid it won't hold up to her weight - She has to weigh at least ten pounds. We'll have to see how much punishment one black cat can dish out!.

The one I got is water-resistant. logged. This item is required to keep cats in the Northeast from getting wet or damp. It's cute to look at and would be fine on a dry day, but when it rains. . . the inside cushion is soaked, and any homeless animal sitting in it would become sick. To provide better seals, the Velcro should be made longer. Granted, it's a perfect little hideaway and resting spot in dry weather, but I've had to cover it with a tarp to keep these poor homeless kitties dry. Perhaps I received a faulty one with the Velcro at the incorrect length. Is there a problem with your connection? (I THINK I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT. ) ) I'd be willing to try a second one and change my mind because it's simple to put together and appears to be sturdy, but the point of protecting outside animals in the Northeast USA is to keep them dry and warm, which is impossible to do if they're wet. Is it possible for someone to send me a replacement house in the event that I receive a substandard one?.
