The home is not the right place for it. Any surface you put the salt on will be damaged. Despite the salt, we have to touch up our driveway from time to time. But the alternative is either slipping and falling on the ice or spending money on the driveway every now and then.
My father stuffed pantyhose with calcium and threw them over ice dams to make channels for water to flow. There is a gap between the gutter and the edge of the pavement.
There is no sign of any problems on the deck in which it is used. The only thing I would suggest is not to do it too heavily.
In all honesty, I am not sure what to say. I tested it on the ice, too, and it worked perfectly. My sidewalk and driveway date back to five years. They are too old to show a difference. There are times when I may not be able to help more. Hope you have a good day!

Is it something different from Walmart ice? There has been no success with this product It didn't melt the ice like Walmart's product, nor did it melt my ice, like Walmart's product did. The ice is by the door of my car, I put it there As the product disappears, however, the ice remains intact. This is a very disappointing experience. The box has been cut up. Darn! I'd return it, but i can't. The driveway of my house has an ice berm. My car couldn't get out of a small hole so I used half of the bag to dissolve a 5 foot path. Despite the changes, the berm remains in place. Sorry to hear that!.
During the holiday season and the beginning of the new year of last year, I used the salt. The Chicago area received a great deal of snow. No pavement was pitted when I used the product on my driveway and sidewalks.
Concrete is not damaged by this product, and it is easy to spread on small ice patches during the wintertime.
This is a 5-star product when it comes to melting ice. The product is highly rated, but because I misread the directions, I purchased it for concrete and now my driveway is a complete disaster. According to the package, it can be used on air entrained concrete. That kind of concrete does not seem to exist for me. It is important to use it on concrete only if the concrete is air-entrapped, or else the concrete will be seriously damaged.
Our tree decking contractor recommended it to us and was happy with its performance.
